Bristol Palin Engaged to Dakota Meyer, Medal of Honor Recipient

Your post is completely false. The tabloids weren't aware who Palin was when she was picked to be VP. You said she had little experience. That is false. She had been a 2 term mayor and governor of one of the most strategic and important natural resource states in the nation. She had whipped Alaskas failing economy into a prosperous one that garnished her a 93% approval rating as governor and was considered the nations most popular governor at that time. Her executive experience with a phenomenal record governing was something Obama had zero record of and that was a threat to his campaign and the media refused to report her accomplishments in Alaska and her record of making policy. Instead of focusing on her record governing, the media focused on other members of her family which was truly pathetic and unwarranted.

 

Save that comment for those, like yourself, who attack the children of politicians they fear.

 

Many of those "red states" are filled with blacks and Hispanics, who have a much higher rate of illegitimacy than whites. Mississippi, for example, has the highest percentage of blacks in its population than any other state, yet it's a deep red state.

Your point means nothing when someone with the ability to think... thinks.

 

Who said anything about stopping free speech? I'm not trying to do anything of the sort. I'm just using my free speech to say that your free speech is immature.

And again, I have no problem with people talking about Bristol Palin, obviously. It would be stupid for me to object to that. What I am objecting to is taking out the sins of the fathers (or in this case, mothers) on the daughter.

It would be like me saying that there's going to be joints passed around at Malia Obama's wedding, because, according to some sources, Obama smoked pot at one point. That would be immature, wouldn't it?

What's the difference?

(This is a hypothetical example, and I personally don't know if Obama ever did smoke pot, but the point stands).

 

There have been very few non-posthumous Medal of Honor recipients since the conflict in Vietnam. You can count them on one hand probably.

Back in March, Bristol Palin announced her engagement to Medal of Honor recipient Dakota Meyer, but according to her mother, former Alaska governor and former GOP vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin, their May 23 wedding will not go on as planned.

Sarah Palin wrote on Facebook on Monday, “Bristol and Dakota couldn’t be more thankful for the love and support of family and friends over the past months while preparing for their wedding. They have informed loved ones that unfortunately the announced celebration planned for May 23 will not be held.”

She said the families will still get together on May 23 “to celebrate life.”

“Many friends and family still look forward to getting together that day in Kentucky anyway – and the Palins and Meyers are happily looking forward to still being at ‘the old Kentucky home’ on May 23 to celebrate life, in general!”

The announcement comes after reports claimed Meyer never divorced his first wife. Bristol Palin debunked those reports in a statement her mother shared via Facebook.

“Regarding salacious headlines in recent days about ‘secret wives,’ Dakota and I discussed our past relationships prior to our engagement. Dakota was legally divorced years ago, as any good reporter could and should have disclosed to readers. As usual, false stories and dramatically written headlines begging controversy should be disregarded, and we have faith that our privacy will be respected at this time by those with decency. Thank you!”

Both Bristol Palin and her mother shared the quote “Trust in God’s timing. It’s better to wait a while and have things fall into place than to rush and have things fall apart.”

Well, it's up to whomever hires her to speak about abstinence as to whether she's right for the job or not. Maybe she is since she can speak from experience. And it's not at all unusual for a mother & daughter to have a difference of opinion about whatever......

And who cares whether she's using BC or even if she's pregnant? That's her business........

 

I will be the first to admit that I find the entire Palin family fascinating, much the same way folks slow down and stare at traffic accidents.

So the reception was going to go ahead, but the bride to be apparently was a no show. Sarah appears to be getting into an argument with Dakota Meyers, and Bristol goes on a trip with an exotic model.

This is like a bad reality show, only a bit more real.

The bizarre set of circumstances mean't that while the former vice presidential candidate hung out with her daughter's ex-fiance and ex-Marine Dakota Meyer and his family in Kentucky, Bristol made a very public showing of her non-attendance by posting a series of photos of her enjoying a 'weekend getaway' back in Alaska with her best friend who is an exotic model.

Sarah Palin had taken to Facebook last Monday to reveal that her 24-year-old daughter would not be marrying Meyer as previously planned just days after accusations emerged that the 26-year-old Marine had covered up a 'secret wife' he had married at 19 and then legally divorced.

Despite the cancellation, the former vice presidential candidate confirmed a celebration would still be held on May 23 and both families would be gathering for a barbecue at Meyer's Kentucky farm.

'This Kentucky farm is a beautiful setting for our friends and families to gather in celebration of life itself this Memorial Day weekend,' wrote Palin.

'Nothing is more precious to us than family, faith and America's freedom.'

But the 'celebration of life' appears to have quite heated at one point as this photograph showing Sarah Palin raising her finger in what appears to be a heated exchange with the man who was supposed to have become her son-in-law.

Days earlier Meyer had put out his own statement on Facebook page around the same time as the elder Palin and bearing striking similarities to her message, suggesting a concerted public relations offensive.

But if both sides were supposed to be maintaining a united front someone forgot to tell Bristo

 

Seems the former governor is not such a fan of this "honorable" fellow now.

Sarah Palin is slamming daughter Bristol's former fiance after he filed court papers involving the couple's daughter Sailor.

Dakota Meyer filed papers seeking joint legal and physical custody of Sailor Grace, who was born on December 23 in Alaska.

In the court documents filed by Meyer which were obtained by TMZ he is also asking for one other thing from Bristol - child support.

Sarah responded by telling Entertainment Tonight in a statement; 'For many months we have been trying to reach out to Dakota Myers [sic] and he has wanted nothing to do with either Bristol's pregnancy or the baby.'

She then said that Meyer is just trying to 'save face'.

Bristol's rep also released a statement, saying: 'My values are such that a real American hero doesn't ask for child support.'
