As far as hate goes, read your own posts on this thread. I noticed you didn't post all that hate you said was directed at Chelsea, why not? As much as republicans detest Obama, you won't find all these hateful comments directed at his girls.

I have to wonder what kind of family life a person had to bring so much hate to someone they have never met or someone that has done or said anything to personally hurt them?

Palin's entire candidacy offended me.

She was an insult to the intelligence of voters. A tabloid celebrity trotted out for no other qualification other than her looks and her ability to utter red meat slogans to the mouth breathers in the far right wing audience.

Sarah Palin was an inspiration to the host of crackpots and con men that have emerged in every GOP primary since.

They saw how far a superficial candidate with little real experience, knowledge or talent could get. And they saw that she could cash in, poltics or not, in the aftermath.

Does anyone honestly believe that con men like Herman Cain and the people behind Ben Carson's campaign would have emerged had the GOP nominated a serious candidate in 2008?

I don't care about Palin's family. I never did, and still don't.

If that was what you meant, then that should have been what you said. The only thing of interest to me in this thread is the medal of honor recipient.

I never liked the Palins... however the lefts cruel obsessive treatment of them often puts me in the position of defending them.

Very true. My earliest posts here were questioning the impact of endorsing Palin. I found her grossly unqualified for veep. I felt her kitschy persona that many found affable betrayed an ignorance on important issues. Her discussions with Kissinger were laughable. She was NOT good on the spot (eg I read all newspapers). In short, she was a candidate only because she was a former beauty queen. If the right wanted a real leader that was a woman, Mrs. Kay Bailey Hutchison was a serious candidate... but nobody gave merit to actual qualifications. She was, in my opinion, the reality TV candidate, and cost the election. A price we couldn't afford.

So yeah... I got no love for Sarah... but the vitriol with which that family has been treated brings me to ready defense... especially of the children.

The saga of 17 yr old pg Bristol is one of the main reasons why I found the libs beneath contempt. They acted like Bristol was the 1st 17 yr old to get pg and of course, she'd certainly be the last...right?

At first I had mixed emotions about Palin having her pg daughter on stage w/her in 08, knowing the flock of vultures was growing and focusing their beady little eyes on her stomach, but came down on the side of Bristol is part of the family also and had every right to be there if this was what BP wanted.. If Palin hadn't had her family w/her, she would have been criticized for that and asked why she was hiding her family, the vultures implying she was ashamed of her pg daughter. It was a 'damned if she did and damned if she didn't' situation for her....... and to accuse Palin of using her kids as 'props'. They are her children and she introduced them during an important time of her life that was publicized....all politicians do that.

There's a female lib poster here who's one of the Palins most vicious critics and some months ago she posted that she thinks Bristol should have placed her son for adoption. Good gawd! My jaw hit my keyboard when I read that - the boy is at least 6 yrs old now and she's still brooding over Bristol Palin and her choices......how's that for being obsessed over a family you'll never meet?

Well, first, the Right did not pick Palin as John McCain's vice president. But once the deed was done it was accept her or renounce her and McCain's presidential bid in the face of candidate Barack Obama also NOT being qualified from a practical matter of political experience to become president. Then couple to that the very real probability that Joe Biden was suffering from early onset dementia.

What mostly bothered the Left about Palin was that THEY had just finished rejecting the far more qualified for the office Hillary Clinton in favor of the utterly unqualified Barack Obama and then McCain ups and says "Well in the Republican Party we are going to have the Year of the Woman after all . . . and that maneuver got right up flared leftwing nostrils.

The real sticking point for the Left, though, was that he also had the audacity to pick as his female running mate someone who was roughly just about as qualified (by political experience) for her office as VP as Obama was to be president . . . meaning not really all that qualified at all -- either one of them.

That's why the Left began making the 2008 presidential contest look like it was really between the unqualified candidates for their respective offices Obama versus Palin.

 

Seriously, is that the best you've got? You came on and attacked a young woman for virtually no reason and then you accuse those who pointed out the anger and animosity in your attack by claiming they adore Palins as some sort of gods? Could you have any bigger of a hissy?

Ask yourself why it was so important to come on and attack the child of a politician? Why all that hatred?

I don't care for Obama, but you won't ever find me attacking his children because of it.

I grew up in a very loving family, there have been times when kids make mistakes, as a family you correct it and move on.

I'll never forget in 08, I saw a segment of SNL that blew me away. This sleazy little cockroach was mocking the Palin family.... he said: "For all we know, Todd Palin may be 'doing' his daughters. After all, it is Alaska".... and the audience giggled and cackled. That's how far down in the sewer we've sunk as a society......

Not long ago I saw that SP was part of a SNL celebration and I wondered how she could be part of that. If that had been me, I would have told them what I tho't of their so-called 'comedy' in defense of my husband and daughters.....

I think Palin is ok, but she tolerates things I never would and she certainly couldn't possibly have been worse as VP than Biden.......

I said almost the same thing to him, and I know it is falling on deaf ears. I have gotten to the point of not being able to stand to even hear Obama's lying ass voice, every time I hear it I turn the channel. I can say as most all conservatives or even fair minded people on this forum, I would never say anything negative about his daughters. They appear to be beautiful young ladies and do not deserve to endure any partisan hate. Sadly liberals don't see it that way
