I policed two of the most dangerous cities on the planet for seven months, and I received thousands of hours of training in urban warfare and weapons handling prior to that deployment. In other words, I have MORE experience policing dangerous cities than 99% of cops in America, and I have far MORE training than they do. That is why I am so disgusted by what I see, because I know from experience that these overly aggressive, overly fearful cops are abusing their power and acting like thugs.

I don't really care what you believe or what you're impressed by. The fact is I have policed cities that are far more dangerous than any city in America, and I acted with discipline and restraint, unlike the cowards you are apologizing for.

Dr. Carson is a smart, but very misguided man(both politically and in the office he should seek). He has never legislated a day in his life, how is he 'running' for POTUS? At least people like Huntsman(government experience) and Cain(business experience) had something to actually call upon.

I'd vote for him for a House of Representatives seat, but no way POTUS.

Wow...have you ever been to a neighborhood meeting or talked to your alderman? You sound like a highschool student. Dude, if you want to pull a" Baltimore", I'm all for it. I'm from chicago and the black neighborhoods always ask for more police while at the same time demonizing them.

Every weekend some black kid gets shot in those neighborhood.... you knew what, i don't care.. and the police. They don't really care also. Hell, less police in the ghetto means less taxes for me to pay.

the man was out of control and not sure from watching the video what he was telling people, sure they were confused too

you do not tell children to leave a pool, many of which may have been dropped off by parents and waiting to be picked up

you can say stand over there and wait or something.....

And conversely.....everything can be construed and interpreted as "non-threatening" if you're trying to justify the ongoing "War on Cops" leftist agenda.

because the cop is supposed to be the professional here.... now that the cop is no longer a cop, he can swear at whomever he wants as long as he is not disturbing the peace

now if this ex-cop swears and a cop puts him in a choke hold and kills him for nothing more then swearing, he will make the news and the cop that does that to him will be the one in trouble

just because he as a normal person does something bad now (or is around a group that has), doesn't mean he is free game for bad cops to abuse

it doesn't matter if a bad cop is abusing a white\black\ex-cop\whomever... it's still wrong

He was telling them to leave the scene of primary incident - which they weren't doing. They were standing there like balking, grazing cows.

Nope. He drew his pistol the same way I was trained to draw it. And when you draw it in that manner, there is a moment when the weapon is aimed down range before you extend your arms. It looks like this:

This is how almost all LEO and military are trained to draw their pistol, so there will always be a moment when it is aimed down range, even if you transition quickly to an alert position.

That is why you should only draw your weapon when there is an identifiable and proportionate threat, because the very act of drawing the pistol puts people, bystanders included, at risk of a negligent discharge.

If you or I come home from work, after having a bad day - let's say I'm a surgeon - and throw our own child around like a rag doll, I don't think the "I had a bad day" excuse would work. We'd be headed to jail. I don't think any judge would accept, "But she was running her mouth!"

Sorry. If this cop was too distraught to perform his job, someone should have taken him off duty.

Cops are not saints, they're human too, and last I checked....they were or are not required to not ever curse in the course of performing their duties as law enforcement. To suggest otherwise is just plain silly on your part.

These "thug cultures" wouldn't even exist if it weren't for the war on drugs, just like Al Capone's mafia wouldn't have existed if it weren't for alcohol prohibition.

What is this some sort of pseudo-sociologic mumbo jumbo? I thought conservatives didn't believe in sociology? That being said they were not doing anything that other human beings don't do in the same situation. You place a bunch of young people together in a scantily clad, co-ed environment and you are going to end up with fights...no matter what race they are what "culture" they ascribe to. As far as not being responsive to authority figures...that is a very human also. There is not a 13-18 year old in this country that has revolted against authority at some point. Most of the time it is done while in large groups as this. I would suggest to you their behavior was absolutely human and normal. What was not normal was the reaction by the one officer. You can even see in the video that other officer's were trying to, half-heartedly I admit, restrain his behavior. If you watch the video the only person that is acting well outside normal behavior patterns is the cop in question.

On a side note I would suggest your "thuggish culture" as relates to black youths is the same racist argument I have heard most of my life growing up in rural America. "I like black people when they are by themselves but when they get in a group they act all aggressive and like (insert "n" word here)."

If I had a nickel for every time I heard that argument which is essentially the same argument you are making I wouldn't have to work now.

What a blatantly illogical comparison. A cop trying to get control of an unruly thug crowd is not the same as a father coming home and beating on his kids after a "bad day."

    - - - Updated - - -

Let me guess - you're a white guy who lives no where near the thugs you constantly apologize for. How convenient.

I didn't claim I was in law enforcement. But you don't need to be in law enforcement to see that abusing a teen girl standing on the sidewalk is not upholding anyone's rights.

In America, we have this thing called a "presumption of innocence" that people such as yourself like to disregard when it involves rationalizing the abusive behavior of cops.

So unless you have some compelling evidence to suggest she had committed a crime or was in the process of committing a crime, the presumption is that she is innocent.

Based on the video, her only crime appears to be "mouthing off" to the cop, which is not really a crime at all.

I don't even believe in the construct of race, so, no.

Your comment doesn't even make any sense.

And absolutely NO EXPERIENCE in law enforcement here in the US. That's what I thought. Your alleged experience in Iraq is of no relevance.
As I am similarly disgusted with arrogant, race-baiting know-it-alls.
Sure you do. You can't help yourself. Your arrogance demands it. Otherwise you wouldn't have tried to impress me with a questionable resume.
I doubt it because you show a lack of situational awareness. You have an obvious hatred of US police and as I discovered, it is apparent fueled by racism.

If you were "policing" in Iraq, tell me, how many unruly pool parties attended by approximately 100 teens-- many of which were trespassing on private property did you have to roll up on by yourself and get under control?

    Nope never happened.
Your alleged training and history and the picture you posted and the link you provided are irrelevant and do not change the video or the facts.

First order of business is to abolish the unconstitutional and draconian war on drugs that serves as a funding vehicle for police militarization.

Only in boring, white suburbia can that scene be deemed an "unruly thug crowd."

And only a person who has never worked a second in law enforcement could think what those cops were trying to regulate was easy

Never suggested otherwise. The founding fathers found a way to enforce the law that didn't involve an army of uniformed thugs roaming the streets murdering, extorting, kidnapping, and invading. They had militias and private citizens to enforce laws, and they only enforced laws that upheld the natural rights to life and liberty. They didn't go around wasting everyone's time enforcing a mountain of petty political dictates and extortionist rackets.

Crime is rampant where there are despotic gun control and drug laws that turn communities into giant prisons with no way to defend themselves from thugs, uniformed and otherwise.

Your assumption is incorrect. I live in a city that has a majority of minority residence. I also live in section which is predominately African-American but you can believe whatever makes you feel better about yourself.
