The radical American network MSNBC is running a campaign encouraging people to think of themselves as "world citizens". The demand for one world government can't be far behind. What a joke. I have nothing in common with the people of Bangladesh or Burma. They have different values and expectations of government than I do.

Bhikhu Parekh has written extensively about this. He has critiqued global citizenship and says one world government would inevitably be, "remote, bureaucratic, oppressive, and culturally bland". I agree. We need one world government like we need a direct hit from a ten mile wide meteor.

We're seeing how difficult merging countries would be in Europe right now. Germany and Greece are different countries with vast cultural and economic differences. They never should have been part of the same economic system.

    Your thoughts?

My thought is you have not actually travelled much, otherwise you would know better to make the claims you did.

So you are in favor of one world government?

And you think the problems in Europe between Germany and Greece are insignificant?

I'm thinking if Germany and Greece can't make it work, how are you going to merge the U.S. and Iran? Do you think secular San Francisco shares the same values as the people in Damascus or Baghdad?

Maybe you've been watching too much Star Trek.

In no rational mind does this logically follow from the topic at hand.

Also, you're completely ignorant on all matters related to trans people. Educate yourself if you want to rectify this.

Would one world government be with or without Sharia law?

Believing in one world government is the most naive political position one can take. It's right there with the Easter Bunny and Santa Claus.

If it were even possible it would only work without any Religious law.

I never said it would be possible, there are far too many that are like yourself that prove we have not evolved far enough to live as one species on our one small planet.

How many illegals do you have living in your home? Are you sharing your good fortune. And yes, I've been around the world plenty. People in Iran, China and India, South America have vastly differing opinions regarding how societies should be run. Chinese and Japanese are fairly obedient worker bees. Brazilians aren't overly concerned with schedules or dealing with deadlines. They are literally opposites when it comes to work ethic. It is nearly
Impossible to work with Brazilians and expect any sort of consistent schedule. They have almost no regard for meeting times or a compass for deadlines. It's not surprising why that country is in the shape it's in.

I think the Comintern at MSLSD never disappoints.

The U.S. has been fighting the War on Poverty for 50 years to no avail, but the "Global Citizens" think they can end extreme poverty in 15 years.

    Picture the Change, man...

How about we merge continents first? we could break them down into nations and states under the nations. hold on a second, that has already been done! think of the european union and african union, they all work.

The thing is it is not really official. if we were to give them more power, they could guide things and divide financing better, of course, pooling resources, slashing corruption and taxes, and so forth.

What in the world does travel have to do with the ability to effectively govern all the cultures of the Earth using a single system?

I can't speak for MSNBC or internationalists, but it is possible to view your family and individual life as more important than your connection to a country.

You can be highly individualistic without being nationalistic or being in favor of world government.

For example, many libertarians aren't nationalistic but still greatly value decentralization of government and national sovereignty.

The danger with nationalism is that it makes you falsely assume that a citizen of your own country is worth more than a non-citizen. To truly believe in human rights, you have to value human life on more of an equal level.

They just want to poop what someone's says but not back it up with anything. Look at the differences between the northern and southern cultures in the United States. Know throw on top of it language and cultural barriers. How a supposed world traveler can say there is no difference tells me they have not traveled. A person travels the world to see different people and cultures do they not.

    Naive?

This is Utopia to our statist collectivist friends who are enamored with centralized power.

The thing is, it's all (*)(*)(*)(*)s and giggles as long as everyone has to live with the system that THEY choose instead of the system that some goat herder in Pashtunistan would choose.

F- the police! But you know what would be a good idea? A single centralized authority in charge of everything. Wouldn't that be snazzy?

A one world government simply is not possible. It's been tried and failed miserably

Just an attack on sovereignty, a globalized world that works out to be neofeudalism, structured to benefit only the elites. A one world order of peons and the elites. All MSM and all of DC are globalists, and have no need for a constitutional republic.

Of course a world citizen is ruled over by a one world group of elites. Nothing to be gained and lots to lose.
