From what I've read, doesn't sound like they're about to lose federal funding. In fact, the American people are against the Goppers by a 2-1 margin.

    http://www.wtsp.com/story/news/2015/09/29/poll-2-1-funding-planned-parenthood-supported/73020854/

Seems the vast majority have not drunk the GOP kool-aid on this issue.

Still waiting for a reason that PP needs Fed funding at all. You can get your BC at any pharmacy and there are far more of them than there are PP clinics. Remember BC is now covered under Obamacare so simply giving out free contraceptives is no longer an excuse. Second, they don't do any mammograms they just do referrals. Once again that is something that any standard clinic can do. There is literally no reason to keep funding PP at all anymore. All the services they talk about are offered at other locations.

PP didn't profit from it. They donated the tissue for research purposes and got reimbursed.

So, far from profiting from fetal tissue research, PP will now be taking a loss for it.

I'll take this a step further and ask why their alleged profits would necessarily be a problem. It would actually be better for everyone is PP was a commercial enterprise or a private charity. Why must the government subsidize them at all?

I am very glad PP performs abortions......these are unwanted children......why would you bring in unwanted children to this world? Would you rather put them on welfare rolls and pay for them the rest of their lives? Conservatives talk out of both sides of their mouths.......reduce welfare but don't abort the unwanted. What the heck??

Is planned parenthood the only business capable of providing such services? Why is it every time a person is against one thing they must be against everything some lib claims goes along with it? There is a big difference between abortion and counseling, condoms or the pill. The services can easily be provided by an organization that doesn't commit genocide.

Yeah right, like your ilk has ever used science as the basis of any of your arguments.

I really don't agree with you, not because you're right (which you are in this day and time), but because we've allowed religious bigots to win a victory, not by coherent arguments, but by resorting to lies, their religious beliefs and threats. They're bullies and should not be accorded anything but disdain. Unfortunately, the scientific knowledge of the general public is pitiful - like, 42% believe the Creationist view of human origins (you'll also likely find most of them are Republicans) and about 3/4 believe either the Creationist view of that God guided evolution.

An apology and an end in this practice might say otherwise.

Though we all know how the left can spin anything.

    Anyway....
A big thank you and congratulations to the video makers.

If some politicians are so determined to shut down research because of their ideology,
let them sign a pledge that they refuse to benefit from any future cures or treatments should they have a medical problem.

It's not that simple when tax dollars are your funding.

    Think about it, ffs.

That's why some states introduced abortion riders.. so that the tax dollars of the majority, who disapprove of abortion, don't have to pay for yours.

Whatever happened to birth control to prevent unwanted babies? Whatever happened to personal responsibility?

"""...the Hyde Amendment is a legislative provision barring the use of certain federal funds to pay for abortion unless the pregnancy arises from incest, rape, or to save the life of the mother. """

Thank you for pointing out that taxes do not pay for abortion......most Anti-Choicers believe they do....

They were haggling over how much the tissue was worth. You live in never land. If a Republican is elected and there is a Republican Congress their days are numbered at least in the abortion department.

Then their votes are numbered...most Americans believe abortion should be legal...

but Republicans could always explain to their followers how much their taxes will be raised to care for the influx of children onto the Welfare rolls....:)

You are wrong, the infrastructure does not exist for other providers to absorb the millions of people who use PP if PP were to be defended, it would also lead to thousands of people not having reproductive coverage as a number of states have refused to take up the extra coverage.
