Bernie Supports - Envy and Stupidity - A dangerous combination

Envy and stupidity embody the essence of Bernie Sanders supporters. I'll use the proposed tax on equity/derivative transactions to illustrate the point.

1. Envy - a certain segment of the population is lazy, stupid, or both. That segment wants more than what they have, without having to attain it for themselves. They start looking outward for someone else to give them what they feel they are entitled to. They demonize those who have more than them (because those people generally work smarter/harder, they have more) and take on victim status. Simple enough.

2. Here's where stupidity jumps in though, which makes the seemingly harmless (but envious) Bernie supporters dangerous. Bernie and his followers want to stick it to the system. Bernie proposes to put a tax on all securities transactions in the country of about ~.5%. He shrugs, because after all, .5% is nothing right? Wrong. That's stupidity talking. The entire financial industry, a major segment of the American economy, would be hard stressed to stay afloat:

a. Market makers - Their job would be impossible given this tax - liquidity would dry up - the average investor would be unable to get reasonable pricing on investments he buys.

b. Financial services companies - nearly every major company here has multiple divisions that would immediately be sunk under the new costs. Can we say 2008 all over again?

c. The markets generally - liquidity would dry up, demand for American securities would plummet, innovation (without the backing of $, you can't do much with innovation) would come to a screeching halt.

3. Basically, Brain-dead Bernie and his brain-dead supporters have a dangerous combination of envy and stupidity. It's to the point where it's no longer funny, but an actual threat to the USA.

 

This thread shows prefectly how capitalist "ethic" in its extremes is basically just hardcore social darwinism. When the strong devour the weak, it is because of their "merit" and because they are in some way "better", but when the weak revolt, then it is called violence and terror. Kudos. I'm still for peaceful measures, but threads like this make me want to drift towards insurrectionary tendencies.

Americans need to be more grateful towards the system that brought us what we have, rather than try to change it. Less revolution fraud, less envy is what is needed. But, I guess it's human nature for you to want to change a good thing.

 

Never underestimate your enemy or you will be the fool standing there saying "duh .... what da hell happened here ?".

 

Because the number of households having an air conditioner is totally related to the fact that you labelled every social democrat ever envious and stupid and that you declared the wealthy as superior to the poor.

This reminds me of so many threads where the left is being bashed north and south, as if conservatives are gods and liberals (or progressives) are pure scum. Talk about intolerance.

I just can't do it anymore! I can't seriously debate someone who thinks there should be a revolution in modern day America. The country where 50% of the population is bloated and overfed, and the rest of us have more luxuries than people dreamed about 50 years ago. I just can't take you seriously!

I literally laughed out loud for days when Obama won the White House and they raged while he fixed Bush Jr's mess.

The numbers simply don't work for them. Just sit back and enjoy their fake polls. By the end of the year, while they're hating on women, hispanics, muslims, gays, etc...we'll be winning the White House yet again.

Their primary so-far has been nothing but highly amusing to watch.

 

Bernie has no chance to win, so any attempt to discuss the motivations of Bernie or his supporters is an exercise in futility and a waste of keystrokes.

Truth: People vote largely out of self interest.

Truth following that truth: Bernie Sanders supporters are no different. They are mostly at the bottom of the barrel, and so they want socialism and nanny government to prop them up. They will thus vote out of self interest, for Bernie Sanders.

So according to you, when I mentioned that I (I'm European by the way) cringed at your post really meant that I advocate a revolution in the USA. You didn't even try to actually understand what I wrote. Furthermore, insurrection is not revolution. And you know, small nuances like that.
