Hey guys. Let's congratulate these 9 North Korean students who are university students in North Korea now.

BTW, these students who once defected from North Korea and went as far as Laos, were said to have been executed upon return to North Korea, according to US and South Korea media.

The following is one news where it says they are returning to nightmare.
http://www.cnn.com/2013/09/30/world/asia/north-korea-laos-defectors-hancocks/

The following is one of the news.

North Korea wants South Korea government to return defectors who wish to return to North Korea, but South Korea just wouldnt do it.

Here is one of them.

You have a picture of a random group of kids, no close ups of thier faces or any way to know who they are or if they are even the same children, no actual links discussing the actual topic of the thread (which is grounds for this thread to be removed) and 2 random links to news reports from years ago that do not directly effect the story of your topic.

So you have no actual proof that these are the same kids. No proof that they are alive and well, no proof they are actually attending a university or anything, it's just a picture of some kids sitting in a room. How is that proof of anything whatsoever?

At no time in that article did it say that we think these kids WERE executed. It clearly states that in the past defectors HAVE been executed. Which us fact.

The women was never a defector. She left the country to get medical treatment, was to stupid to understand she didn't have enough money for it, then was stupid enough to sign papers she didn't understand, then tried to tell the government of the nation your nation is AT WAR WITH that you are an enemy spy. Of course the dumb (*)(*)(*)(*) is in jail. She's a (*)(*)(*)(*)ing idiot.

So North Korea is forcing these prisoners to pretend to be in "college" so they don't look as murderous. How do we know it even is them? Heck, the American prisoner admitted to "hostile acts against the state" when all he did was take a flag.

North Korea's lies are so bad, it's sad to watch.

I saw this picture before. NK forgot they released this picture last time they executed kids.

This story made quite a fuss in Laos in 2013. I was living in Laos at the time. It made headlines in the Bangkok Post and the local state run media in Laos. Interestingly, although a socialist country, Laos has a better relationship with South Korea than it does with North Korea. North Koreans are held with suspicion while South Korea is a big player in the development of Laos. This story made for interesting discussion over a beer with expats.

Police checks are very common on public transport, especially when crossing into different districts and especially provinces. Have all your papers (westerners only need their passports) in place, the police go about their business in good humour. Offer them a cigarette and you'll be their best friend.

I'm calling this MJ character as stretching the truth a bit. Where he would've tried to cross into Laos would be in the far north of Luang Namtha province where it borders with China. It's the only place with any kind of reliable bus transport to the capital in that part of the country. Phongsali province is out because it's far too remote. Border checks in and out China are pretty stringent. Anyone with out papers will either be detained or stopped from crossing into Laos, especially foreigners. Locals have a border crossing pass and a lot of commerce travels between the two countries up there. Luang Namtha is the major road crossing between Laos and China. I'm wondering where he succeeded in getting across into Laos. It's pretty isolated up there (beautiful country though). I'm wondering if they just crossed over away from immigration posts. You can be asked to supply documentation when buying a bus ticket, especially in remote areas especially if you're a foreigner. Also,, did they have any Kip (Lao currency) to buy bus tickets? There are a lot of holes in the story.

It would be easier to procure food than toothpaste. Rice and fish are staples in Laos. You don't need toothpaste to digest it. The missionary is telling pork pies.

Of course the kids didnt go as far as Laos by themselves. There are folks who claim themselves as Christians and human right workers in China who basically lures North Koreans to defect to some other country.
Many of them are actually human traffickers because they get paid by doing that by some people in South Korea and United States. .

Actually I even know who from the United States is doing human trafficking of North Korean children.

Its Suzanne Scholte.
Suzanne Scholte having a good time with North Korean defector DongHyup who have a rape crime record in North Korea.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzanne_Scholte

She is president of Defence Forum Foundation whatever that is.
http://www.defenseforumfoundation.org

The youngsters testified Suzanne Scholte sent three teenagers to South Korea and four teenagers to US.

As far as I can see this is same as kidnapping African people to United States.

He took a poster and he was offered $200,000 for it.
Whats important is not the poster, but the question who offered that much money to a student to do such simple act.
Whats important also for the young North Korean youngsters is
who pays Suzanne Scholte to go back and forth South Korea, US, China to work out things to lure North
Korean kids to defect.

This seems extremely implausible. Why would anyone pay that much money to him to take a poster? Do you really believe this?

So you guys were saying that student guy were somehow forced to testify like that?

I have seen many cases of tortured false testimony in South Korea, but they are never never put in front of all those reporters, because if they speak out the truth, it become a big problem. In addition, people who are tortured is going to show bruises and exhaustion also.

All those tortured cases are just talked about in writing on news paper. No video, just a carefully taken shot maybe. Then they disappear. You can never even see them in any media in later times.

Can I sue her instead? You pay someone to bring teenagers under 18 away from their family to some other country, thats human trafficking!! Thats exactly what those North Korean teenagers experienced
and they said there are 7 teenagers who were sent to South Korea and US.

Just tell me how I can bring her to justice. Where do I go to report the crimes of Suzanne Scholte?

She apparently is doing that in China which is out of US law system. Which authority should I appeal?

International Criminal Court? Well. I am going to. When I have time.

but now I have more important thing to write to people who are being fooled in this country.

He received 15 years for a poster.

15 YEARS.

There's no excuse for that. No excuse one bit. That's human rights abuse.

Yah. its a little bit harsh. its probably because this incident is viewed as a crime against the country and the people.
I feel sorry for the guy too. He probably didnt know seriousness of it. I would write to give him break on my facebook. I hope it reaches North Korean authority. But the thing is its very tense over there right now, especially after GeunHye of South Korea stopped KaeSung industrial complex, and South Korea and US did joint military exercise named "beheading operation".

and just my 2 cents. North Koreans probably dont understand this kind of mischief, daring act is common for college students in United States. North Koreans do that too, but probably in younger years like junior high/high school. College students in North Korea feel and talk more like an adult. They feel much more like an adult than South Korea college students also. I dunno. Koreans put great importance on parent and child relationship,so
maybe his parents can go and plead? That way, officials over there would realize that he is just a kid.
Maybe taking some Korean to explain how common college mischief is common in United States may work.

hey how about this? Why dont I ask these pro-North Korea guys I have contact to send message to North Korea authority to release the college guy, while you guys give some pressure to South Korean president GeunHye to send this lady back to North Korea?

Actually there are lot more North Korean defectors in South Korea who want to go back.
In addition, there are around 60,000 Korean war separated family members still living in South Korea, although the numbers are rapidly decreasing because they die from aging.
This feels not really fair.

I feel sorry for the guy for going to a nation that makes hell look like Panama City beach on spring break.

I wonder which concentration camp he'll be in down the road.

To eat? North Korea offers many good thing to eat (nicely priced) Americans are familiar with.

To run?

To see natural wonders? You need to see mountain GumGang before you die. Thats what my grandma and everybody used to say. Most beutiful mountain in Korea (or whole world) is in North Korea.

To see mountain BaeDu which many North Korean weapons are named after?

These students are back just in time to die in the upcoming famine. It seems that Kim has decided to spend money on weapons instead of food.

Yum...grass roots, my favorite!
