The Democrats have gone into full desperation mode. Another Democrat will allow Felons to vote while behind bars. The Demos out in California must be worried about getting votes out for Hillary. What say ye?

Felons in California will now have the right to vote behind bars thanks to AB 2466, which Gov. Jerry Brown signed into law on Wednesday.

As part of a progressive effort to hasten their transition back into society, thousands of felons in county jail will now be able to take part in California elections......snip~

Large Aryan Brotherhood membership in California prisons. That should do well for Trump's votes in the state.

I see no problem with this legislation. Just because someone is turned into a criminal does not mean that they should be revoked of their right to vote.

I have no problem with felons exercizing ANY of their rights, once they have regained their freedom. That said, I do have a problem with VIOLENT felons regaining their freedom after some arbitrary timer buzzes.

Illegals affect the distribution of electoral college votes with the same weight as citizens.

Exactly.....they haven't paid their debt to society. They are not free men or women with Rights. The only Rights they get, are to be treated humanely. Which has nothing to do with voting.

Why? They're felons. They had their chance to be normal citizens in society and blew it. Nothing against them personally, but they made their bed so they need to sleep in it.

We all know how liberals treat the law. They pick everything apart. If this says felons can vote, and an illegal is a felon, they'll say the law says felons can vote now and he's a felon so he gets to vote. The left is too predictable. This is how y'all treat the constitution, so what's to stop you from treating a local law the same way?

Do you view this a problem? For instance, if in 2020, solidly blue California were to take electoral votes from neighboring red states solely because of its growing illegal immigrant population? Does this not skew our electoral process?

At the end of the day, we're all human. It's societies warped view that defines whether we are, "normal" or not. Felons will already have a hard time seeking employment, and building a better life for themselves due to the bitter standard society has set,, it is only fair to allow them to have the right to vote.

And neither should the rapists, kidnappers, etc. That's why they are behind bars...they gave up their rights.

Isn't the point of representative government to, you know, *represent* the population they were elected to represent?

No, we took their rights away from them by legislation. We can give them back their rights by legislation as well.

No. We didn't take anything from them. They made their decision to turn to crime knowing if they were caught they would pay. Yet they continued to go ahead and that's what happened.

Sure, but what happens when one side of that adversarial, two-party, representative government actively does things to affect the population in order to preserve their own reign of power? For instance, institute 'sanctuary cities' in solidly blue states and flood them with illegal aliens ahead of the 2020 census, in an effort to gain electoral votes at the expense of the red states who choose to enforce their immigration laws.

If such a thing were to happen, it would, in effect, be using illegal aliens to skew elections towards democrats favor. And that is a change that could not be remedied for a DECADE, and even then would be almost impossible to reverse under the current rules. So they don't need to vote to effect our elections, they only need to be here and be counted by the census.

Yup, this is exactly where the problem exists. And it's just subtle enough to where most people won't even bother to think about it.

You have issues with comprehension apparently. Each state can pass a law determining the requirements for voting. They consciously choose to exclude felons via legislation. They can consciously choose to return those rights to felons within the same process. While it is true that a person committing a felony is subject to the law, the law is arbitrary and enforcement is selective. Think about how many adults living free today have done a line of coke or a hit of acid or bought a lid or did shrooms or ecstasy. Depending upon the state, each one could turn you into a felon. If the law were enforced 100% of the time, half the (*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*)(*) adult population of the United States would be in jail or a felon. I guarantee you at least 80% of all college kids would be felons as well. So don't give me this crap about felons choosing to lose their voting rights. I got news for you, the boomers did more drugs during the 60s, 70s and 80s than anyone cares to admit. Go watch Narcos if you think I am full of shiite.
