The world outside the US election campaign continues to turn ...

Erdogan has hit back again and has cleared up against him with every form of opposition. The Cumhuiyet was still a target and thorn in meat of Erdogan!
Editor in Chief Dundar has faced the government’s wrath before, having spent three months in jail last year along with two other Cumhuriyet employees. All three men were detained after publishing a report which claimed to show Turkish intelligence officials supplying Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) terrorists in Syria with arms. Cumhuriyet is well-known for its coverage of the scandal, both prior to and after the arrest of its staff members.

Opposition against Erdogan is still dangerous these days in Turkey ... but neither the Pro-West not the Anti West guys here take notice about and since the case of the shout down Russian SU-24 has cooled down and the coup against Erdogan failed, it is interesting how calm all sides are reacting on news out of Turkey... which call their self to be democratic!

Where are all these blamers against Erdogan in this forum? Destroyer of Illusions, Jeanette and all the rest suddenly? Silence!

I should think by now all the arrests of editors and journalists in Turkey would be old news. What is more important is Erdogan's statement that he doesn't respect the Lausanne Treaty and has printed up maps with Aleppo, Mosul, Kirkuq, Thessaloniki, Rhodes, Chios, Lesbos, Western Thrace, parts of Bulgaria, etc., as being part of Greater Turkey.

To show he means what he says, his frigate tried to chase a research ship away from Greek waters insisting it was Turkish waters so that there were some very tense hours between the Greek and Turkish jets.

The Russian air defenses in Syria in 2012 have shot down the Turkish plane. In 2015 Turks have shot down the Russian plane. We are equal. Now Russians and Turks have to construct the gas pipeline to Europe that give no chance for expensively American slate gas. Turkey and Russia have to exempt Europeans from the American yoke.

Turks will purchase natural gas from the Israelis.
    Good for both sides.

In case of constantly increasing need of gas for Europe, without Russia, there are just not enough capacities for deliveries...

ps: from a part because many sell to China

Old News for sure not, but ongoing news and NO ONE of the "Anti-West Faction" here is blaming and shouting on Turkey about it, but taking the most ridiculous issues up for blaming BS on the US and EU ...!
Yes, the pro-West is at least not much better, but they report on it, even on official media channels ... but for the Anti-West side? Nothing... Silence ... Ignoring!
More as that, again and again is the USA for this and that blamed in matter of Syria, but in reality it is mostly Turkey and so you exclude Turkey again and blame the wrong one!

    About your named things ...
This "Greater Turkey" thinking is about 100 years old and backs to the lost territories of Ottoman Empire. A pure BS Propaganda which exists in many countries who lost in history territories after lost wars or other incidents ... and one of them is btw Russia under Putin too with a mix of Ex-USSR heritage and dreaming of old Tsarist Russia and how big it was!

And about the Greek - Turkish relationships ... ehm ... if you rate the news about Erdogan as old ... well ... this issue is since 50 years ongoing and always annoying that both parties stubborn stupid (one time it is Turkey, next time it is Greece).
