This is a "White Lash"!!!

If White support didn't elect Trump, whose support did? Blacks? Hispanics? Women? Homosexuals?

(Actually, Trump got a majority of White women to vote for him.)

I think our friend Will is disturbed by the idea that Whites might form a voting bloc, like Blacks and Hispanics. They are supposed to suppress their interests to redress historic injustices or something like that.

Mitt Romney won a greater percentage of the white vote than Donald Trump. Mitt took 59 percent while Trump won 58 percent.

Trump improved the GOP’s position with black and Hispanic voters. Obama won 93 percent of the black vote. Hillary won 88 percent. Obama won 71 percent of the Latino vote. Hillary won 65 percent.

Democrats have lost almost 10 million voters since 2008 as Democrats doubled-down on their own identity politics. Black Lives Matter went from a fringe movement to the Democratic mainstream in the blink of an eye. White voters responded mainly by voting in the same or lesser numbers as the last three presidential elections. That’s not a “whitelash,” it’s consistency.

The media, press, Clinton and the Democrat talking heads succeeded in convincing white people to see themselves as a unity in the same sense as minorities - particularly with so many Democrats cheering the demise of whites as the majority.

After years of openly cursing and hating white people, as their incomes and lives were slammed in real terms, millions of white people finally voted with an angry "F... U... 2!!!" back at the Democrats. Openly hate on someone long enough - and don't be surprised when they come to hate you too. The incessant pitch of Democrats that white people should hate themselves in white-guilt constantly spit into their faces finally cracked.

Angry white males are angry?

Yes, they are!

They are angry because they are being screwed over by corporate America and the promise that if you work hard you will have a nice comfortable life with a pension to retire on.

And yes, I fall into that category myself but I am not angry about it because that is just a feelgood means of venting frustration and doesn't actually address the core problem.

Those same corporations that are screwing over angry white men don't discriminate when it comes to who they screw over. Women, minorities, whomever are all screwed over by corporations because corporations are beholden to the Wall Street Casino Bosses. Corporations are held hostage by the Wall Street Casino Bosses who will punish their share prices if they don't constantly deliver larger and larger profits. So where do corporations find these larger ransom payments AKA increased profits? They steal the money out of the pockets of their workers in the form of pay raises, pensions, healthcare benefits, etc. etc.

Now the question is how have corporations and the Wall Street Casino Bosses gotten away with this theft of the American dream for so many decades?

They bought off Congress, emasculated unions, bought up propaganda sources like the WSJ, Forbes, Money, etc and hoodwinked angry white males into believing that corporations and corporate profits were the holy grail and that their jobs were what made America "great". Which was ironic given that they were outsourcing those jobs and laying off those angry white males by the millions.

But the angry white males swallowed that BS because they were told that their jobs were being threatened by poor immigrants instead. The angry white males were duped into believing that everything that was wrong with their lives was all because someone who was just trying to make a better life for themselves and their families by mowing lawns and cleaning toilets was responsible for screwing them out of their jobs, healthcare, pensions, etc, etc.

And all this time the angry white males believed that everything would be just fine if they could only build a wall on the border and stop these poor immigrants from coming in and stealing their jobs.

Except that is not going to happen. Trump won't build a wall because it would be a violation of the Law of the Land and he doesn't have the authority to overturn the Law of the Land. Even if he did build that wall it would do absolutely squat as far as doing anything to improve the lives of the angry white males.

Building that wall is just another bogus feelgood distraction that won't improve the plight of angry white males one iota.

In 4 years time they won't be any better off and they won't be any less angry than they are now.

 

Once again, a Leftist knows more about what motivates voters, than the voters themselves know.

As a black independent I hate threads like this. These threads that try so simplify everything down to a narritive that makes people feel good about themselves .

Is it true that a lot of racist whites casted a vote for Trump against multi culturalism? Yep.

However, the people who really won Trump those swing states weren't bigots. I think Jordan from TYT politics, really showed the true reality when he went to Michigan and interiewed pepole a month ago. These were the people who had their factories shipped out, and are struggling to provide for their familes. These were voters who voted for Obama in 2008, because he told them that he'd be there for them. However, 8 years later and they're still struggling.

So when Trump went into these communities and delivered a populist message, people rallied around him. All these people want is for someone to stick up for them.

So when people say "white lash" I think its just marginalizing the groups struggling in those industrial states.

Unfortunatly, I doubt Trump will live up to that promise.

Who said white support didn't elect Trump? What I'm saying is if Clinton did slightly better with minority and young voters, she could have offset Trump's support with whites. Trump did no better with whites than Romney, and Romney lost. Why? Because of Obama's support from minorities and young voters. Clinton failed to capitalize on those voters the way Obama did.
