Schumer informed the staffers of the Senate Democratic Media Center that their services are no longer needed less than 10 days before Christmas and Chanukkah, according to employee emails to colleagues obtained by Politico. On Friday, December 16, 2016, my colleagues and I in the Senate Democratic Media Center were informed by the incoming Democratic Leaders office that our services were no longer needed [sic], one staffer wrote to colleagues. Two of the goodbye emails obtained by Politico were from veteran Capitol Hill staffers who worked in the Senate for 29 years and 20 years, respectively. More than six people were fired and the media center has eight total employees, sources told Politico. With the Democratic National Committee going through a transition period as it looks for a new chairman, Schumer and fellow Senate Democrats believe they are responsible for party messaging, Politico reported. One senior Democratic aide called Schumers move to fire the employees days before the holiday season very unusual. Now, if you know Chuck the **** Schumer, something is amiss here. Everyone knows that the most dangerous place in Washington is between Schumer and a TV camera. Maybe he's bringing in his own video crew, the ones that film his 52 week a year Sunday press conferences to ensure he gets on the local NY TV news on Sunday evening, which is the slowest news day of the week. He's definitely got something up his sleeve, but when will we find out what that something is?

I don't think Trump has much sway with Donna Brazile and the DNC in saving these poor workers before Christmas. The DNC is too busy with organizing an Electoral College coup (oops) and protests in DC on January 20th. Maybe their boss the Senate Minority Leader can reach out and help them, but he obviously has more important priorities.

And what's worse, all of this is absolute proof that the adults influencing these kids are just as politically retarded as the meat with the torches. It is starting to feel like the entirety of higher education is nothing more than a snake oil fraud. It is where all these people, from the media, to Washington, to Wall St, to the people marching on Wall St (lol), to entertainment, etc. are programmed. 100% via college. Surely if DC can mandate cash tuition quotas and rape laws for federal funds, they can also demand an equal representation of ideologies and a stressed emphasis on individual critical conclusions, vs dog biscuit grades for regurgitating the taught trick. I digress. Not only are they going to make zero gains with independents, they are delaying the inevitable drawn out courting period to earn trust again.
Can't determine from the story if these employee's were just set packing or if they received like a 2 or 3 week notice that they were getting the ax as of a certain date. It would be a really cold hearted move to just fire them on the spot, especially days before the Christmas & New Years. I mean, I know Schumer's a dirt bag, but I'm not sure he'd want the political optics of booting all these folks NOW without some notice. Just say'in.

Hardly a "derailment" when Senator Schumer was well within his purview, and the only reason to make an issue of what he did is to distract from the person who claimed to be for jobs, but lied about that. What's next? You gonna screed about "Obama" giving all White House staffers their pink slips? Because that's what happens when the POTUS' term expires?

Of course it's the Republican who's screaming that these career bureaucrats who have no perceptible work output to show were let go--they're the GOP's "do-nothing" kinda people.
Yeah I would also like more information as to why they were released. As an employer I know how delicate firings can be. I mean, it is like two weeks before.... brutal
IMO Shumer has always be a low life snake, and this just adds to what I believe. Time will tell if he is better or worse than the senile old fool Reid.
