No, I've never lived in Canada but I work with a guy who was born and raised there and he said the health care system up there is great unless you get sick.

And our system doesn't have problems of its own? The fact that we even got the ACA is proof enough that ours has had major problems in providing necessary care to people. It's nightmarish when people lose coverage or are refused reimbursement over endless technicalities that benefit private insurers at the expense of patients. It was all "just fine" to people who had nice health insurance, but that was far from everybody. Still is even now.

Typical leftist - you toss around insults only to accuse others of doing it.

By "treated like human beings" you mean given a free ride through life, right?

All you have ever done in this thread is insult others. If you cannot argue like an adult, then you should probably shut up.

Since I was originally responding to someone who was blaming Senate Republicans for the dam fiasco, I'll suggest you take it up with that person. Apparently the Senate used categories, priorities, etc.

Well, in the end I wouldn't expected everything to be covered. I haven't seen the statement that you saw, of course. But, other countries don't cover everything, leaving some stuff that individuals can pay for if they want that kind of coverage. Also, our own limited single payer system (Medicare) doesn't cover everything.

So, I doubt it's going to be like "platinum plans for everyone". I would expect it to be more like having a pretty good plan with the option of adding coverage through insurance companies if you want to.

Yes, we need to allow negotiation for drugs.

Including undocumented aliens may not be all that much more expensive. Today, they add to the costs of having ER take care of large numbers of indigents. That kind of coverage is hideously expensive. The ACA caused significant savings for hospitals due to moving people off this kind of care. Hospitals have reminded congress that if the ACA gets cut, they need to be ready to increase support for hospitals if the new system leaves more without coverage.

Nancy P3l0s1 was overheard to say on the topic; "I just feel like, that the numbers would work".

    Other cereal ingredients agreed.

Doubt it would take that long, California is just shy of half a trill in debt their spending to GDP doesn't leave enough surplus to halt the rise of debt so this is just another one of Gubnor MoonBeams senile pipe dreams. If he is counting on federal funding to supply non-Americans with healthcare he is in for a sad surprise, in fact, if he doesn't conform to federal laws concerning immigration laws he may very well find himself explaining to his constituents why they must all pay even higher tax's to foot the bill for illegals!

You would think so, but that's not the case! Almost 40 million people and they can't get thru a budget without tapping federal funds.

No just given access to quality health care like every other civilized country in the world...We should get the profiteers out of the healthcare business and make it freely accessible to all of our citizens, again like every other first world country. Our for profit health care system is a national embarrassment. All of the legislation written in the past four decades has been by pharmaceutical and insurance lobbyists and passed by the whores in congress. Time for single payer universal healthcare. We are the richest country in the world and we should strive to make our healthcare system the best in the world just like our military.

I always get a kick out of folks that say "The Gubmint" got it's money back, like the Gubmint has ever earned a dime. When in the world of reality it's our money that was repaid ;)

Heck, even Vermont decided single-payer would bankrupt them and their population is 62 times smaller than California...

Vermont ends push for single-payer health care

Spoken like a lackey for the insurance and pharmaceutical industries who have had a strangle hold on congress for decades.

Well!! I guess the only thing left to decide is whether or not we allow current legal California U.S. citizens to immigrate to other US states when the train runs off the tracks. I suspect heavy vetting is in order. No Democrats or subversives allowed. And we're going to need a wall along the Sierra Nevadas.

We're not going to miss those 55 electoral votes! :clapping:
