That's still weird. Its one and the same. Heroine converts to morphine by the time it hits the brain. Heroine is also being research as part of a opioide replacement therapy to remove people from addiction.

The ACS in my opinion has no reason not to do research, even if it is funding it outside of America

There seems to be no good reason NOT to legalize marijuana. Compared to booze and the nutty behavior of those who drink too much, marijuana seems nearly totally harmless.

What’s most interesting, is that republicans are forever whining about “getting government out of our lives.” But when it comes to marijuana use, women’s choice, etc., then republicans want to use government to force everyone else to live the way republicans WANT them to live. What incredible hypocrites they are.

Is there anyone left, who believes that republicans give a sh!t about christianity, or that they have any morals or values. Rather, they use christianity and their bible to beat everyone else over the head in an effort to make them live as the hypocrites think they should live. All the while they support trump and want him to destroy the safety net for the poor. They’re FAKE christians. The GOP is full of them.

It amounts to a lack of will to enforce Marijuana laws.
Just like the lack of will that got us out of Vietnam.
    It was people, not politicians.

I wish we would have a draft for any deployment over 8 months,
and see how long we hang around in another "Not At War, War".
Still in Afghanistan! Why? Not enough lack of will!

Keeping pot illegal is an unconstitutional restriction of our rights. It is also an inhumane criminal creation machine used to churn out millions in the prison industry.

Keeping pot illegal is against the will of the people. Trump would be remembered as possibly the best president in the history of the us if he did absolutely nothing more then just legalizing pot and sat back for four years watching the tax revenues eradicate the deficit.

I agree completely that pot should be legalized.

But, NOTHING will help trump be remembered as anything more than the revolting Orange Psychopath he is.

Is it possible to legalize Marijuana with an executive order? That would be a brilliant move for Trump on so many levels. Seriously.

Seems pretty silly having a guy who doesn't drink and never smoked a joint in a high governmental position. Trump is the same way. I have never trusted 12 steppers or tea tottlers. It's time we rid our government of these goodie two shoe candy asses...lol

You got it right and then screwed up and let your prejudice influence your thinking. The opposition is from the establishment, not from Christians. Its the "war on drugs" that funds much of the establishment - local cops, federal cops, the entire DEA, the legal system at all levels, the prison industrial complex, and of course politicians. Civil forfeiture and fines are big sources of revenue for local cops.

That is correct. States like Texas have unleashed a huge crew of highway robbers in uniform who illegally stop and shake down motorists, steal their money then make them prove where they got it without even charging them. That is what these so called conservative, strict constitutionalist judges have wrought upon the citizens of this country. The Democrats are far more likely to appoint judges who would stop this horrible, un-American practice. Today's so called conservatives are a bunch of lying phonies who don't give a rat's ass about the U.S Constitution.

The "worse for you" argument is irrelevant, even if true(which I doubt). It's none of the government's business what consenting adults put into their bodies, so long as they don't violate anyone else's rights in doing so.

Agree completely on the empowering criminal elements. Legalizing pot(and other recreational drugs) would give the profits of it's production to law abiding citizens and huge amounts of money to government coffers via taxes and fees; while the War On Drugs, on the other hand, is a black hole into which stupendous amounts of resources are thrown and which turns millions of average americans into criminals and moves the US further down the road to police state status; while funnelling the profits from recreational drugs to the lowest scum of the earth; most of whom are America's sworn enemies.

Alcohol is a drug, heck some people even say sugar is a drug.

Regardless - one mans poison is another man's pleasure. If you think it is morally wrong - then do not do it.

Recognize however that there is a difference between 1) having a belief and 2) forcing that belief on others through physical violence.

Individual rights and freedoms end where the nose of another begins. .. so as long as someone is not harming you - it is morally wrong to force your moral beliefs on others.
This is known as the Golden Rule. Hammurabi's famous Law Code had this rule 1800 BC and numerous other near east legal systems.

Confucius state this rule - as did Buddha. This rule (do unto others -treat others as you would be treated) was the rock on which Jesus based his ministry.

This rule is the basis for the Rule of Law and one of the primary principles on which the US was founded.

In summary - If you do not like Pot .. you are free not to smoke it but, you have no moral ground to force your personal/religious beliefs on others.

And it is not like we have not been through this rodeo before. Prohibition let to large amounts of criminal activity which no longer exists due to legalization.

The harm reduction arguments are an anathema to one of the main principles on which this nation was founded - individual rights and freedoms were put "Above" the legitimate authority of Gov't.

The nanny state crowd love to use utilitarian justifications for law (Utilitarianism is a justification for law that looks only at what will increase happiness for the collective). This is an ends justifies the means justification which completely ignores individual rights and freedoms -and thus should be discarded on this basis alone.

What is worse is "Fallacious Utilitarianism"- arguments that are not even valid utilitarian arguments - and this is where harm reduction falls.

For example - is "if it saves one life"/harm reduction good justification for law ?

If "if it saves one life" is justification for law then we should ban skiing tomorrow - would we not save one life ? What about boating? that is really dangerous as one could drown. Driving a car ? Banned. In fact one should probably not rise from bed in the morning as one might fall and break neck.

The fact of the matter is that we have the right to risk harm to ourselves and everyone does this every day.

The argument is abject nonsense "unless" the "overwhelming majority" (not 50+1 as this would be tyranny of the majority) view the activity as so harmful or reprehensible that they are willing to change the social contract (contract by which "we the people" give authority to Gov't)

We need to get back to what the founders intended - the principles on which this nation was founded.
