Ha! I'm in the same position, just the reverse. I've told my kids about small government, low taxes, etc. But my daughter is an MSNBC and Obama liberal. Every time I say anything about politics, she just shouts "Racist!". If I tell her the U.S. should demand other countries pay more in U.N. dues, she shouts "Racist!" at me.

 

Funny how many Trump haters fell all over themselves to give full throated support to Obama's stupidity. I just can't take complaints about incompetence seriously from the Obama apologists.

Well ... tpp was created to have an economic counter weight against China and we all know that Trump likes China the same way as he likes Hillary. So someone should be wondering why the Chinese cheered with fire work after Trump ended tpp. So he likes China at the end much?

Another on first view good thing was this cancellation of the Air pollution to back the own American coal mining industry to create new jobs so that the electric power will be done more out of own American coal. Sounds good so far (air pollution problem aside)... but:
is with this order the situation really solved? No!
No electric power supplier is forced to use American coal instead using cheep Chinese or Australian coal! Also is thanks to fracking the US natural gas price so much lower as coal that it is questionable if the depending power stations will use now coal. What are Trump's plans here to solve this? Nothing!
In the end, therefore, only media propaganda without content, which does not solve any problems and the miners will produce mountains of unused coal!
The really annoying is then that the "Rightys" and Trump fans call all to be "bad America hateful left and liberals", who are precisely calling and showing these facts ... or begin to say some wishful nonsense about "Trump will for sure also care about it".

 

The Chinese have rewarded the Trumps for this handsomely...........and they are not finished helping them line their pockets.

In addition to stupid and nefarious you can add gross incompetence, a hint of corruption and a seemingly lack of any governance capability whatsoever......

In short, the worst administration to come down the pike in generations, having little to no hope of getting better, even though they are attempting to walk back much of the buffoons so-called platform. An administration that is exceedingly humorous to watch, totally inept and tragic to many........it's going to be a long 3 years or so.

 

What did you expect after 8 years of hatred for Obama from the right, 8 more years of hatred for Bush from the left, etc..Etc..?

Trump didn't say that he was sending an aircraft carrier to North Korea. People jumped on it and thought that was what he had said. Two Trident subs with 576 nuke warheads is one heck of an armada. This is the modern world. We don't use wooden sailing ships like the Spanish did with their armada. Besides, why would you send a highly visible aircraft carrier in close where it could be attacked when you can keep subs hidden thousands of miles from the target?

 

Let's assume (big mistake, I know) that you are correct, why was it not clarified by Spicer, McMaster and Maddis?

 

An aircraft carrier is a lot less threatening than a Trident sub. An aircraft carrier represents limited action. Sure, it has a lot of planes and some can carry nukes but it's limited in scope. A Trident sub, on the other hand, has just one purpose. Each one has up to 288 nuclear warheads that it can shoot in a few minutes. Once that happens death and destruction on a massive scale results. An entire country can be destroyed within minutes.

So, in order to reduce the hysteria they now have to send the aircraft carrier because it reduces the scope of the threat. We can fly around a couple of planes and act mean and outraged. The subs, on the other hand, are invisible and are not threatening but they are vastly more lethal. The aircraft carrier represents limited action. The subs represent total destruction.

 

This does not really address the thread topic, but I digress.

 

You are coming across as desperate in your defence of Trump. A sub that is not visible is not threatening. An aircraft carrier visible from the coastline is threatening. If a "message" is not visible then it is pointless
