He just joined a few days ago, fancies himself a genius, and does little but post "I know it alls" and nebulous cloud talk. Just another one ...of those. We know the kind. & A mighty poor first impression.
Leftist poster thinks that AoC and PU being overwritten by our Constitution grants free pass to Federal Government to expand at will, even though Constitution still enumerates few powers to Federal Government. Wrong, leftist poster.
Hypocritical poster is hypocritical. I'm all hot and bothered that a leftist doesn't like a Conservative. Knock me over with your tail feather. Perhaps self-examination is in order: you chose to make posters personal. I was attempting to make an argument, and you chose to go smarmy and personal. While bloviating about first impressions.
It's a common and lazy leftist ploy. "Here is a link to something on the internet. I don't personally want to take any particular stand on the issue, and this is a way to punt."
"In 1850, the cost of a slave (in today’s dollars) was $40,000. In modern slavery, the price of a slave in $30." "Slavery is not dead, just less recognizable." "Today, 27 million people are enslaved, more than at the height of the transatlantic slave trade." Susan Llewelyn Leach, " http://www.csmonitor.com/2004/0901/p16s01-wogi.html
Sorry. Though I respect the CSM, a lot of that is wrong. Please see my previous posts on the subject.
Trump's statements regarding Jackson have been misrepresented on this thread which discredits the attacks on him - as usual. Please paste up a quote from Trump opposing the Tubman 20.
Trump was right in so far as Jackson had an opportunity to decisively end the secession movement in the South in 1832 and thus prevent the Civil War. Most of the attacks on Trump lack the credibility to have much lasting impact.
What part was misrepresented; http://heavy.com/news/2017/05/audio-donald-trump-andrew-jackson-civil-war-interview/?
Jackson's approach to secession in SC in 1832 was to impose martial law and hang everyone involved for "treason". Is your complaint that Trump's "16 years" number was wrong?
"Donald Trump: It’s wrong to put Harriet Tubman on the $20 bill" http://nypost.com/2016/04/21/donald-trump-its-wrong-to-put-harriet-tubman-on-the-20-bill/ Trump is a self-admitted racist well before this comment.
Just ask yourself this, have you ever seen slavery portrayed in a way that isn't absolutely horrific? I haven't, and that cannot be the reality of it.
This is such BS of an interpretation job. If Trump knew what he was talking about, he would have been more specific. You can't be a great negotiator in business by spewing BS nonsense and not specific on a deal. Your assessment lack the credibility to have much lasting impact.
When are you trump supporters gonna wise up and quit making excuses for this World Class Moron? trump is a freaking joke. A colossal embarrassment for America.
Again, are you talking about PRICE or COST? If it's cost, then you need to tell me what that cost is over time, as in is it $40k per year? That sounds ridiculously high. But I can believe that the price of a slave was $40k to purchase in the antibellum south, as the price of slaves sky rocketed after the slave trade was closed in 1807
Not defending it. I'm saying our perception of southern antibellum slavery is not accurate. Black slaves were not like Hebrew slaves building the pyramids until they were worked to death. They were worth A LOT of money, and that changed things.
I love it when "Good Christians" make the argument that "bad Christians" are not "really Christians". Hypocritical Bull$hit. http://www.sbc.net/aboutus/basicbeliefs.asp They believe they are Christians. Their writings show they are Christians. Christianity is not opposed to slavery. Southern slave owners and members of the KKK used Christian beliefs to support their views. http://www.christianitytoday.com/history/issues/issue-33/why-christians-should-support-slavery.html I'm not surprised that you would say that. Your lack of knowledge about Southern Baptists and Biblical support for slavery shows you are very ill informed about many things..
The vast majority of white men in the south were farmers with their hands in the dirt working their asses off. Only a rich owned slaves, about 5% last time I looked. That's another myth about slavery.
