I said it weeks ago. Trump lied about the mythical tapes. Now Trump confirms that he lied. CNN says it best.

Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump finally, grudgingly, had no choice but to come clean.

His admission, on Twitter Thursday that he did not secretly record his conversations with fired FBI Director James Comey -- after earlier raising the possibility that he did -- capped a six-week charade that damaged his presidency and cast doubt on his personal credibility.
It was a surreal new twist to a presidency that has often already stretched the limits of credulity, and has challenged conventions on the decorum and gravity expected in the behavior of the person who holds the office itself.

First, he denies knowing whether or not his White House is wiretapped. I guess he is too stupid to know the CIA and FBI have highly sophisticated tools to determine just that, and all he has to do is ask.

Or he is so stupid he thinks he will hoodwink Americans and the media again. The media made a circus of the issue, but Americans knew he was lying. He knows damn well the White House is not being surveilled. So, he lies within a lie. Trump can't help himself. It is in his DNA.

It took Trump over 40 days to admit the obvious.

The stupid, small man tweeted, "With all of the recently reported electronic surveillance, intercepts, unmasking and illegal leaking of information, I have no idea... whether there are "tapes" or recordings of my conversations with James Comey, but I did not make, and do not have, any such recordings."

This man is an embarrassment. It amazes me that his staff and lawmakers in Congress continue to protect this guy. They constantly tell us how hard Trump is working.

So, where was Trump yesterday? Hard at work trying to get his agenda accomplished? Huddling with Senators on the healthcare bill? Consulting with his many lawyers about his self-made legal problems? Nope to all three. He went on the 2020 campaign trail ... again, this time to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. His narcissistic psyche requires that he get away from Washington and be with his cheering, adoring fans.

Answers ?? I saw only disjointed "observations" in support of a conspiracy theory. But please continue to "auger in" on the Russian collusion scam. And please encourage all fellow D's to do the same. Putin is appreciative.

And now more from Alan Dershowitz. He has used the Trump bluffing tactic on tapes in the courtroom. And again - what is the crime ??

Let's change the subject. This one has gotten boring.

Do you have a problem with members of the administration revealing the truth to Americans? If so, please explain why revealing the truth is a bad thing. I would be interested in your reply.

For example, CNN and NBC News were among the news organizations reporting DNI Coats told committee members in a closed hearing that Trump had asked him repeatedly to say publicly no Russian collusion occurred during the election.

Now that is kind of important, don't you think? Why the closed hearing? Why didn't Rep. Trey Gowdy inform the American people of this important development?

Instead, he is livid about the leak. "An outraged Rep. Trey Gowdy on Thursday slammed the news media for leaks of DNI Dan Coats testimony to the House Intelligence Committee "before the transcript's even dry.'"

    http://www.newsmax.com/Newsfront/media-leaks-Dan-Coats-collusion/2017/06/22/id/797760/

What else has been said behind closed doors that we don't know about? Trump fans loudly proclaim there is no evidence of collusion between the Russians and Trump's staff. Well, so far all the evidence and all the testimony in closed hearings has been in the hands of the Republican-led DOJ and staunch Trump supporter, Jeff Sessions, along with the Republican House and the Republican Senate. All bent on protecting the Republican President.

    What other secrets are there?

Trump should be awfully concerned when independent-minded Robert Mueller begins reporting his work. There won't be any more secrets behind closed doors.

It's boring to you because you can't refute it. There is no crime. And collusion is not a crime even if it occurred.

Check that - the Senate intelligence committee has now opened an investigation into Loretta Lynch who may have obstructed justice by slowing down the Russian investigation when she was AG.

There is nothing to refute. Moving on.

Somebody told Trump he made a complete fool of himself. Incredulously, he first tweeted, "Obama Administration official said they "choked" when it came to acting on Russian meddling of election. They didn't want to hurt Hillary?"

Let's see if I have this right. The CIA captured Putin’s specific instructions on the operation’s audacious objectives — defeat or at least damage the Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton, and help elect her opponent, Donald Trump.

According to Trump's strange reasoning, since Obama did not attempt to stop Russia from damaging Clinton's campaign that somehow helped Clinton? That's weird, really weird.

Trump changed that today. As usual, he made things worse for himself. Now he tweets, "The reason that President Obama did NOTHING about Russia after being notified by the CIA of meddling is that he expected Clinton would win ... and did not want to 'rock the boat.' He didn't 'choke,' he colluded or obstructed, and it did the Dems and Crooked Hillary no good."

In another tweet, he said in part, "I should be given apology!" Oh, boy, is he losing it?

Forgetting for the moment that Trump encouraged the Russians during the election, forgetting for the moment that had Obama done something and informed American voters beginning in August that the Russians were interfering in our elections and wanted Trump in the Oval Office, forgetting for the moment that would have ended Trump's Presidential bid, forgetting all that, who does Trump blame for the Russian interference? He blames the former President.

As President, Trump has yet to condemn Russia for attacking our form of government. Instead, he blames Obama. As President, in five months he still has not taken any punitive measures against Russia for interfering in our election. As President, he has not taken any measures specifically aimed at Russia to prevent her from interfering in our 2018 and 2020 elections.

The idea that he is throwing up a series of red herrings to change the narrative about his collusion with the Russians is foolishly transparent, infantile, moronic, counter-productive (indicating guilt), and useless. A reasonable person would laugh if it were not so tragic. He is our President, for crying out loud.

    Therein lies the tragedy.

The tragedy is the self destruction of the D party by it's leadership focused on only Russian conspiracy theories. The post above is a good example of this.

The real Russian scandal is the Obama administration doing nothing about the known Russian activities months before the election.

The hot thing now is, Obama knew about some kind of Russia interference since August 2016; and said and did NOTHING until Hillary Clinton lost. Then, they all had their panties in a twist over Russia and Trump, Russia and Trump, etc.

Actually, the hot thing is for the right wing to mindlessly accept any lie that Trump tells them and repeat it as if this didn't make them look foolish.

Here is some of the "said nothing" from Obama that Trump worshipers keep talking about. I'm only including remarks in July, August and September...

I said he did nothing. Did Obama or anyone in the senate ask for a special investigation while he was president? No. Hmm, I wonder why. The left wing CNN is having to fire three writers because they published a fake story about one of the president's staffers talking to, horrors, a Russian ambassador. In other words, they have been lying all this time and the left wing has swallowed every bit of it.

Yes, Obama (and just about everyone else) assumed that Hillary would win and did not want to go public with the Russian activity which for some reason he thought might taint her victory. When Trump won however the Russian "matters" were brought out and blamed for Hillary's loss. IMO this entire thing has boomeranged on the D's and is now benefiting Trump and could likely result in major legal problems for Rice, Power, Brennan, Hillary, Lerner, and many others.

As everyone knows Obama didn't interfere in the election because he thought Clinton was going to win anyway. Trump was claiming daily that the election was rigged. Obama didn't want to give credence to that ridiculous charge.

Had Obama interfered and told American voters the Russians wanted Trump as their next President, Trump wouldn't be your President today. You don't seem to understand that. Neither does Trump.

As President, Trump has yet to condemn Russia for attacking our form of government. Instead, he blames Obama. As President, in five months he still has not taken any punitive measures against Russia for interfering in our election. You had no comment? Amazing.

Are you really that dense? Do you actually believe what you just said? Nevermind you were way off topic, but articles are often retracted in the news media, and CNN did the right thing. They got on it right away, retracted the story, and fired those responsible. But what stupid comment did you make. "They have been lying all this time." I can't think of anything more moronic.

Contrast that with Trump. He lied when he said there might be tapes when he knew there weren't any. It took 41 days for him to admit that he lied. Then he lied about the lie, saying someone else in the White House may be taping his conversations in the Oval Office. Not only was that a lie to cover the original lie, but he made the dumbass move of admitting he has no idea what is going in the Trump White House.

The intelligence level of yourself and Trump may be on an equal basis.

You said "said and did NOTHING". They did what they needed to do before they had all the facts.

Me too.... What are you insinuating? That Obama colluded with the Russians to get Trump elected?

Trump Derangement Syndrome is getting stronger as the completely bogus Russian conspiracy theory implodes. The desperation is palpable. What was the source which exposed the false story ??

    - Classic, you can't make this up.

BTW your lefty buddy Alan Dershowitz explained that he used the same tactic that Trump used to ensure truthful testimony from a gov official. And neither of them lied.

They did what they needed to do based on political calculation - they assumed that Hillary would win. When she did not they came out with sanctions.

Yes I do and what are you whining about? I just reported what CNN reported, can you not get that? The 3 writers wrote a lie about a Trump staffer and then they were forced to resign. Too bad you are too thick to absorb that as fact and that it puts a big black smear on CNN. Just because you adore the liberal lies they report everyday doesn't mean they haven't lost all credibility. Did you not even hear the audio where a producer said the whole Russia thing is B.S. Oh, you are going to ignore it, just like you and your gang always ignore reality. CNN is fake news. Get over it, you lost.

You're right. The president never said he had tapes, he was bluffing. Alan Dershowitz has dared to stick his head out and speak the truth, no matter how it goes against his party. I really admire him for this. And, his neighbors in Martha's Vineyard are harassing him over it. But, but, but, how can you, how could you? :roflol:

I know exactly what I'm talking about with regards to Alan Dershowitz. And so should you if you are fair minded. I even posted the link to the video of his discussion of this on Tucker Carlson the other night.

They did think Hillary would win. But you try to imply that there would have been no sanctions if that had happened.

Why don't you say whay you mean explicitly, instead of just "insinuating"? That's a rhetorical question. I know exactly why: because if you say explicitly what you want to convey, it will sound idiotic to any moderately intelligent human being.

Here is what you want to say but refuse to verbalize explicitly because it's absurd: "Obama planned not to sanction Russia for interfering in our elections if Hillary one" That's what you want to say. But refuse to say it, because it's so obviously idiotic.
