The courts have ruled that if a justice of the peace or minister wants to perform a legal marriage service for a gay couple, then as American Citizens and human beings, that gay couple has that right, and states cannot prevent it. How does that harm YOU.

I do not hate gay people. I have an ancestor who was burned alive at the cross in England for being a protestant christian. His son sailed over on the pilgrim ships. Christians back in that time were a lot different than now. Sure there are still false christians.

To be a true christian you must love everyone including your enemies and only God can judge people. However if you believe in the bible than you will know marriage is between one man and one woman. Therefore I can't support it and never will. Love the people but hate the sin.

As a Christian myself, I don't want to see any such monuments torn down. I don't even think we should be tearing down the statutes of the Confederate heros. We don't teach our kids about being straight, either. And given that sexual orientation is not something you can teach anyway, it all works out.

According to a number of studies - there are, in fact, an amazing percentage of people who haven't figured out the mechanics of producing children by age 18. Hell, we have people on this forum who think the world is flat and 9/11 was a hoax - the fact that they may not have figured out sex is not that surprising.

 

Without knowing exactly what words were spoken and the given context, how can you make that determination that it sends the wrong message? This isn't politics, its the real world and depending on how the school approaches it on this topic is fine by me. What would you tell your 7 year old if she/he saw two men walking down the street holding hands and asked you why they were holding hands? Would you tell them a lie to hide the truth or be honest with them?

 

No one is asking you to support it. There are still people who don't support interracial marriages. But in a country of religious freedom, those who do not follow your religion or interpretation of that religion, should not have to be bound by those beliefs.

Do you pray to a god in your religion or to a holy book?

Where in your bible does it say marriage is between one man and one woman?

Especially since many were married to more than one woman.

if they are too young to learn about gay marriage and couples, then they are too young for straight marriage and couples. Remove all references to such things as well.

 

Why not give 10 year olds a choice?

They can listen to gay fairy tales, or they can take shooting practice. Which do your think they would prefer?

 

Sexual activity more often then not, does not lead to procreation. At most 1 time/yr will it lead to procreation. And for a limited time.
So the vast vast majority of sex is not for procreation, but human desire, needs, and of course the biggest reason, pleasure. But to you all of those other times are deviant.
And most couples today, have 2 children. But sex way more often. And in many relationships, one will get themselves fixed so they won't procreate. More deviants.

 

Reading a children's books about different types of families isn't social studies, its a picture book not a complex course. Have you ever been to a real social studies class? And middle school isn't about hard academics, these kids still need to understand the basics of life, society, and our country. We also teach them about slavery, Martin Luther King, and other social events from our past.

A lot of kids do know about all the times of families but not all do. I didn't know much about gay, adoptive, and single families when I was a kid. Its ok for a school to tell kids what other families other kids live in as part of basic education about families.

Telling is what a school is supposed to do. Its supposed to tell kids what is out there in the lives of other kids and the world at large. It was just a single kids book about gay families read once, not a yearly course in gay sex.

This book didn't say anything about sex or that kids should have gay sex.
