Just heard a report Don and Jeff tried to get Wray to fire McCabe so Wray threatened to resign. No link yet.

If confirmed, this kind of thing is hardly surprising given that Don thinks the entire DOJ is supposed to act in his interests and not in the interests of the country.

Or... Wray is a swamp critter, too.

I don't know. I'll have to give him the benefit of doubt. For now

McCabe is a swamp creature holdover from the Skidmark administration. A clandestine meeting took place in his office that we know about, courtesy of Russian FBI agent Strzok.
This will not go well for the leftist dingleberries. They should pay more attention to details, like bleach bitting their arses. :roflol:

So you make something up and post it as fact.

Wait and see and then apologize for that when it turns out to be proven fact.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions — at the public urging of President Donald Trump — has been pressuring FBI Director Christopher Wray to fire Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, but Wray threatened to resign if McCabe was removed, according to three sources with direct knowledge.

    • Wray's resignation under those circumstances would have created a media firestorm. The White House — understandably gun-shy after the Comey debacle — didn’t want that scene, so McCabe remains.
    • Sessions told White House Counsel Don McGahn about how upset Wray was about the pressure on him to fire McCabe, and McGahn told Sessions this issue wasn’t worth losing the FBI Director over, according to a source familiar with the situation.
    • Why it matters: Trump started his presidency by pressuring one FBI Director (before canning him), and then began pressuring another (this time wanting his deputy canned). This much meddling with the FBI for this long is not normal.
McGahn has been informed about these ongoing conversations, though he has not spoken with Wray about FBI personnel, according to an administration source briefed on the situation. Trump nominated Wray, previously an assistant attorney general under George W. Bush, last June to replace James Comey as director.

Trump has also tweeted negatively about other senior FBI officials who are allies of Comey, including the former top FBI lawyer James A. Baker who was recently “reassigned” after pressure from Sessions.

White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Raj Shah said of Wray: “As we’ve said, the president has enormous respect for the thousands of rank and file FBI agents who make up the world’s most professional and talented law enforcement agency. He believes politically-motivated senior leaders including former Director Comey and others he empowered have tainted the agency’s reputation for unbiased pursuit of justice. The president appointed Chris Wray because he is a man of true character and integrity and the right choice to clean up the misconduct at the highest levels of the FBI and give the rank and file confidence in their leadership.”

As I reported last night, Sessions has adamantly urged Wray to make a "fresh start" with his core team.

Trump and other Republicans have been hammering McCabe — who was selected by the White House as acting director after the Comey firing — for months on Twitter.

    • On July 26, Trump tweeted: "Why didn't A.G. Sessions replace Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe, a Comey friend who was in charge of Clinton investigation but got...big dollars ($700,000) for his wife's political run from Hillary Clinton and her representatives. Drain the Swamp!"
The latest: The New York Times — and others — reported in December that McCabe "is expected to retire after he becomes eligible for his pension [in] early [2018]." But senior Justice officials are still not sure what McCabe plans to do.

The FBI declined to comment for this story. Justice Department spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores also declined to comment.

Why are you so afraid of the function of the DOJ?

We'll soon see what happens under the DOJ when it's not corrupted by the excesses of the Skidmark in Chief. Perhaps Obama should get his passport in order. Back to Kenya he goes!

Definitely better suited for the New York Tabloid. That way, when you get called out for shotty reporting, you can just claim to have done no research first. That defense worked once, why not again?

Losing his pension seems to be the least of McCabe's worries at the moment, he can always get a job with Fusion GPS to make up his lost government income. In light of the latest revelations, published and conveniently missing text messages and upcoming declassification of the congress memo, he may well be facing some serious time.

Ever hear the saying......."where there's smoke there's fire?" The sheer volume of information you folks continue to dismiss out of hand is nothing less than astounding. Deny, deny, deny. I'd love to see your faces when Mueller's final report comes out.

What volume of information? Theres noyhing but innuendo. There is a FAR larger pile of evidence of corruption within the FBI and Muellers investigation than there is about Trump.

Christopher Wray 's message to the rank and file in the FBI is clear, "I'm not going to let this corrupt, lawless prez or his AG to intimidate the FBI while I have the power to do so."

I, for the life of me, can't begin to understand why Wrays resignation wasn't immediately accepted. :confuse: No one should have had to pressure him into firing McCabe ... or Strzok either. Mueller dismissed Strzok the instant he became a liability to the witch hunt. McCabe's been ripe for firing for 2 years. Wray is either spineless or corrupt.

Clearly this is a matter of Agent Orange wanting to purge all vestiges of Comey's time as FBI director so Don wants anyone associated with Comey gone. Just as Comey (and now Mueller) presented an existential threat to Don's admin he must feel those who he perceives to be aligned with Comey do too. It's just another example of Baby Donald wanting to extract loyalty to him over loyalty to the country from those in government and attempting to remove anyone who fails to submit to that pledge.

The latest effort being the laughable document Nunes and other House Repubs who are trying to tear down the DOJ and FBI have cobbled together. Devin being an incomparable Drumpf sycophant who deserves not just to be run out of Congress but to have charges of obstruction brought against him.

Lest we forget the just released text messages pointing at the secret society created in the bowels of the FBI as an insurance policy to unseat president Trump and a very convenient disappearance of text messages during the very period of time when the machinations of this secret society led to the establishment of the special counsel.

This alone absolutely and unquestionably exonerates everyone prosecuted by Mueller and this is just the tip of the iceberg, the missing text messages are missing because they expose Mueller's investigation as a Stalin-like witch hunt and fishing expedition to overturn the result of the election, no matter what.
