Are you sure you really want socialism---think about this one fact

I suppose you think Obama was a better president?

 

My view is that Trump is the worst we have ever had. He was a swindler, admitted woman abuser, and con man in his previous life and this has translated to his presidency. He is unqualified to serve and is as abusive as it gets. His attacks on our institutions that disagree with his effort at autocracy will haunt us for years, as will his inability to maintain a qualified staff to give him the advice that he needs rather than advice that he wants. He ain't no Ronald Reagan.
Let's not forget that Obama had to deal with the worst recession in history and
Trump took office on the upswing. He did not inherit any recession.

 

I'm sure he would prefer a superior, privatized system. But we are forced at gunpoint by government to live under a nanny state which drastically reduces our freedom.

 

Yea...he takes those checks kicking and screaming I'm sure.

Yes there was one that I remember from the 70s that was one of these and was successful at the time, but I cannot recall the name or what happened to them. But the problem is of course that with robotics and AI, this becomes a moot point. Robots and AI don't need it, unless AI suddenly develops self consciousness and demands it, or else. ha ha Or else they will run the show and don't need the owner class at all.

 

Seems like capitalism over time, and when there is little difference between corporations and gov't, in that gov't does the bidding of corporations and big banking, ends at the same place. Gotta be the affect of the base side of human nature. Human nature corrupts even capitalism, IMO. If allowed to.

In the US the socialist debt piles up on the Government, in the UK the people pay for it all and "If you can't pay, they'll take it away". Please watch the whole video if you haven't already. You'll see it's where we are headed if we don't get Government spending under control.

 

Right back at ya, the socialists are still overspending on the social safety net, scream bloody murder when there's even talk of taking it away while at the same time importing poor uneducated folks that will sink the system. Many do, as well as in other countries. China was going the way of the USSR until they started experimenting with capitalism. Their "economic sector" is growing....and the poorer people outside those zones are taking notice of their Socialist-induced poverty.

 

Logical1 would have seen his retirement investment cut in HALF in 2008...and been forced to draw off that reduced amount (locking in his losses).

And all that assumes he made good investments on the way TO 2008...

The great joke is that those who like work the least, tend to go straight for Communism, bypassing socialism altogether.

Every single white, western, would-be Commie I've ever met (and I've met plenty, for my sins) has been a loafer. They are so incredibly stupid and naive - bless em - that they think Communism will somehow magically enable them the light duties of their choice. Not one seems ever to have grasped that Communism can only work when 10 hour days x 6 days a week of sheer drudgery are the lot of every single citizen. No one gets to choose a 'career', and no one gets to opt out.

 

The whole and entire Point is that socialism can engender a Commune of Heaven on Earth and where capitalism, can never buy us a Stairway to Heaven.

I have watched many of these videos and the evictions have nothing to do with social housing they are from private landlords i.e. capitalists who apply for a county order for eviction for unpaid rent. Many women and those with young children are in fact given accommodation in social housing, the complete opposite of your post but according to you their all scroungers and as such should be turned out onto the streets.
America, has at the last count forty million on the poverty line even though many are working two jobs just to put food on the table and I suppose you’re advice would be to work harder.

If you did indeed watch many of the videos you'd know it's the cap on benefits and rising rent creating all the evictions. It's what happens when a socialist society has more people collecting benefits than folks working hard and paying the ever rising taxes.

Excuse me! I've paid into social security and medicare for the last 45 years involuntarily, that ain't socialism. I was never given the opportunity to opt out and handle my affairs myself. Like I told Lesh, give me everything I paid in plus interest an I'll sign off. Till then I demand a return on the money I paid in.

 

Considering that our current capitalist system has produced the biggest big government that money can buy, it’s rather hard to take this sort of argument seriously.

 

Except that government is not capitalism. If it was capitalism, then taxes would be voluntary.
