Tuesday night was not all bad news for the right. All of the candidates Ocasio-Cortez personally endorsed lost. So that was good. Other than that, it was not good. Ohio's 12th district, which Trump won by 11 points and Romney by 10, nearly voted in a Democrat, with Republican Troy Balderson winning by a slim 1.5% margin. This is not ok for the Republicans but most of them are looking the other way, and following suit with President Trump, who simply tweeted that he himself deserved credit for the win and said that a red wave was coming. This is patently ridiculous. And it's dangerous, Republicans will lose congress if they don't get their head out of the ground. They aren't running on substance, as they should, but rather emotions, and it's not working, but nobody seems willing to acknowledge that. If they don't soon, Trump can kiss his Republican colleagues goodbye.
Balderson would have won by more if he hadn't gaffed and insulted 1/3 of his constituents. Lots of voters probably stayed home in the rain after that. That special election was not an indicator of anything, one way or the other. If the GOP is to hold the House, they better unify and get behind Trump, kiss the ring, in a hurry. GOP will likely hold the senate.
Soo... your saying that Republicans should worry because none of the endorsed progressives won and the Republicans that did "barely made it"? Uh huh.
The warning signs have been out there for months. If the GOP is too stupid and head strong to take notice, I'm okay with that.
Now's the time to pull no punches. I expect a lot of far fetched Russia nonsense in the next few weeks. Whatever it takes, just as Trump did in 2016.
we all know what to expect leading up to this election. the media will be in full attack mode. ignoring all positive aspects of this administration, there will be endless speculation, all of it damaging, as to the muller circus and countless "experts" telling us that the crash is coming. from muller and his dogs we can count on plenty of well timed "leaks" and quite a bit of pointless grand-standing. of course there will be accusations of decades old sexual impropriety from mystery women who disappear as soon as the election is over and "investigations" into every nook and cranny of the lives of anyone even remotely associated with the republican candidates. to a certain extent these tricks will work. the public is largely ignorant, relying on a biased media and an entrenched political establishment for guidance and too confused by all the conflicting information to believe anything but the worst.
I've stopped making drivers licenses and switched to birth certificates. I gained a lot of experience working on Obama's. Turning them out by the thousands.
Hubris has set in. I don't want to say too much, not to jinx things or anything, but I think come November that we will find out that many conservatives are even worse losers than they have been winners.
I don't see how that would be possible; the left has already broken every record there is for bad conduct of losers.
I don't recall Democrats chanting, "LOCK HER UP! LOCK HER UP! LOCK HER UP!" a year and a have after the election. Violent liberal thugs weren't invading conservative strongholds. That is conservatives winning. Liberals have yet to reach that level, win or lose.
