Is that supposed to be defense of Islam, Sharia, or Saudi Arabia? What you just posted is nauseating and a direct result of literal interpretation of the Koran.

While true, these laws are almost never applied. I posted elsewhere in this thread that only four people worldwide have actually been executed for apostasy in the last 30 years — and none since 1992 (with the exception of nut jobs like ISIS).

The people in your links, for instance, have not been executed.

That does not make the laws okay, but it puts them in perspective.

    Apparently Allah is not willing.

Oh, then all is well! Give me a break. How many jailed? How many fined? How many oppressed, silenced, and terrified? You are not mounting a strong defense of the disgusting practice of criminalizing apostatsy.

In fact, you are providing cover for it with attempts at slight of hand and with overwrought equivocation. Intellectually, that's even more nauseating than the scourge of criminal apostasy itself.

What part of “this does not make these laws okay” was unclear?

I feel like you routinely respond to posts without fully reading them.

As people become better educated, they drop organized religion like a rock. The trend will continue.

Every word of it, since that is not an assertion that the laws are "not okay". That is only an assertion that those statements do not make the argument that they are "okay". Which is weak-kneed doublespeak.

Do you? You finally mustered up the intellectual stones to say it. Now go on, tell me how this has nothing to do with the religion of islam, and instead is caused by "culture"...or, let your other intellectual stone drop, and admit this comes directly from Islam.

Oh, there will still be a Pope although she'll be a minor figure in the Vatican tourist attraction.

If we don't stop fighting very soon, we could easily do ourselves in with nanotechnology and biotechnology.

Have you ever heard of Petticoat Politics? Saudi women have a lot of power and they control most of the money.

    These things go in cycles.

To think all religion will be gone by 2118 is idiotic. You look like a fool for saying that.

There is no evidence or figures to validate that.
I remember a few years ago over 80% of the women in Saudi jails were there for being raped.

What a silly assed lie. LOLOL

Rape is a serious crime in Arabia.. its a death penalty offense. The ONLY reason a woman would be punished at all would be if she had willingly gone out in the desert with a group of men.

You mean 60 to 100 years after Jesus?

He was probably a Jewish man..

Matthew's mostimportant concern was that the Jewish tradition should not be lost in a church that was increasingly becoming gentile.

This concern lies behind the frequent citations of Jewish scripture, the evocation of Jesus as the new Moses along with other events from Jewish history, and the concern to present Jesus as fulfilling, not destroying, the Law..

Your reflexive argumentativeness does not mean I lack “intellectual stones.”

Here,is my very first reply when you brought up apostasy:
    http://www.politicalforum.com/index...-muslim-nation.539175/page-16#post-1069467897

    I wrote:

My initial take is that this is a true issue in that 20 Muslim countries have apostasy laws, with penalties up to and including death. That is simply wrong.

So please tell me again how I haven’t been clear about my opinion on apostasy laws.

And maybe, stop being so pointlessly argumentative.

But unfortunately a woman needs 4 male witnesses, ( as Per Muhammed, when Ashia was accuses of adultery).
If she does not have the witnesses, she cannot be convicted, however she has just admitted to adultery.

If she is eventually released and does not have a male family member to escort her, she stays.

There is a lot written on this subject, and Saudi Arabia is considered to be the largest female jail in the world.
