Most older Americans know nothing about Kanye West or what he does. Creative tastes change; artists emerge that serve and entertain each generation. But Boomers struggle to make sense of what is happening With Kanye West in light of his support for a duly elected president and the plunge into racialist character assassination of some of his brethren among African Americans.

If Boomers shake some cobwebs they may remember Paul Robeson, a black star athlete, singer, lawyer, actor and civil rights advocate who had sympathies for the Soviet Union during the Cold War. Robeson actually moved to the Soviet Union and received awards from the soviet government. Robeson was driving home the point that there was no authentic freedom and equality for blacks in the US. There are no recollections of Robeson being labeled a token Negro for the Russians by blacks in the US. He did suffer the slings and arrows of McCarthyism in the 1950’s but so did many white entertainers.

Robeson is rightly hailed as a pioneer of civil rights in the US and he put everything on the line unlike counterfeit appropriators of the movement like Colin Kaepernick who ride Robeson’s hard work in order to salvage washed up careers due to a lack of talent.

Civil Rights have made great strides in America thanks to the efforts of people like Paul Robeson and Jackie Robinson who faced real racism head on. But Civil Rights became a lucrative industry for some and it’s morphed into a racket that fosters a fearful plantation mentality pushed on the African American community by the Democratic Party to maintain power.

Kanye West has committed the sin of thinking for himself and that makes him a renegade Negro who is straying off the plantation. In the modern Democratic Party African Americans are not encouraged think for themselves; they are told what to think by the plantation masters in the democratic machine.

The Democratic Party would be out of business without a guaranteed 90% of the black vote so it uses fear and ignorance to keep it. Kanye West has millions of fans and followers which makes him a threat to the treasure of the plantation status quo.

They have no choice but to brand him as a token or a stupid Negro because they know they are being exposed as the charlatans they have always been. It’s over for the democrats.

 

Once again the Blacks are too dumb to see they need to vote for Republicans. Keep up that mantra.

You stretched this one to the breaking point. Your painting Kayne West as a modern day Martin Luther King is ridiculous, laughable. The only reaction I have heard from anyone is along the lines of, Wow, what's next in the Oval office? Mud wrestling? West isn't the embarrassment, Trump is for using this obviously troubled man as a set piece for his attempt to woo African-Americans. It's over for the Democrats? Where do you get these amazing ideas?

 

That's because you only seek out information from those with viewpoints you agree with.

I wouldn't count the chickens until they come home to roost! The democrats should though be worried about Trump's improved poll numbers with blacks, because if they don't continue to get 92 - 94% of the black vote, winning a national election becomes more difficult for them!

 

Not if it’s offset by loses in the percentage of women voting for Republicans. Back to the Kanye vs Taylor Swift fight. Remember who won that one.

 

There has always been a higher percentage of women voting for democrats and men voting for republicans! While turnout by both parties will be key to the midterm election, I suspect that as usual, independents will determine the outcome!

Actually, nobody in the Democrat party are encouraged to think for themselves. All people regardless of race are expected to just shut up and obey their "progressive" masters.

Yeah, I don't think that kind of racist and dismissive label is something rational people of any persuasion think is appropriate.

But it certainly defines the point of view the NDP applies to anyone who doesn't toe the line, or in the case of a Black person, bow to the massah.

 

West made some good points, spoke honestly, expressed his opinion -- and now he is attacked to the point of being called mentally ill. Is that the country you want to live in? I don't agree with how he presented his opinion, don't care for his music, or much about him, but he has free speech in this country and his opinion is welcomed as much as Obama's or Trump's or Maxine Waters or Colin Kaepernick or Taylor Swift or Lindsey Graham. Sad that West is being called names.

 

West voluntarily committed himself to a mental health facility in 2016.His wife said that in recent months he has not been taking his prescribed medication which probably accounts for his irrational behavior.

 

Its not working out to good for them. Marsha is getting a major bump from the Kavanaugh Travesty.



The latest political polling in Tennessee shows GOP Senate candidate Marsha Blackburn with a solid 14-point lead over her Democratic challenger, former Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen.

Trump should be passing out maga hats everywhere. Think of all the lives it could change.
