Hoarding money is not a thing. To hoarde money is to lose money. The vast majority invest their money, or spend it. Or hide it away and spend it later. Nobody never spends money. If they do it returns to useless paper.

The issue is the corporate bureaucracy, not businesses. Businesses are great, but corporations collude with the state for direct subsidies, barriers to entry for competitors, legal cartels and monopolies, etc. Low taxes are a lower priority because they get such a large benefit from their cartels.

All thats changed since the gilded is that government is taking a cut. All the same monopolies, but the bureaucracy is in control.

They also don't face the threats we do.

    Hence the difference.

The threats come from the guns.

So is that why Hitler removed the guns from society?

You are right, the threat does come from guns.

The threat to those who have tyrannical inspirations.

Sometimes. And sometimes threats are neutralized with guns. Guns are for the most part good.

Germany has the fourth highest rate of gun ownership in the world yet they do not have a serious problem with gun violence.

So tell us how that fits into your narrative of more guns equals more violence?

Obviously its not the amount of weapons available in a society now is it?

They may have a high amount of guns, but they still have heavy gun regulation and they do not have our constitutional right to bear arms, and what do ya know. No Hitler. The 2nd amendment is keeping us from actually regulating guns reasonably, because any time it's brought up we get this "But ma second amendment rights"

And another thing from this, you just proved that high gun regulation does not necessarily take away peoples right to defend themselves. Good for you.

But quoting that they are the fourth is not really saying much. Relative to us, the amount of guns that Germans have is pithy comparing to the amount per person in the US.

Most important amendment is the first and it's the one and only in the modern age where even the US is by far enjoying more freedom than even all the other western countries. The second is terribly written yet still important. It needs to be rewritten. We need an amendment where every ten years it is a requirement to force parts of the constitution to be updated and force a vote across the states. I think that is what the founding fathers meant for it anyway. The civil rights act was pretty important as well, though all the rest pale in comparison to the first.

They have very strict gun control. Would you be ok if we had all their gun laws here?

I wouldn't change a thing. The order in which Amendments were adopted is a wonderful chronicle of the history of our progress as a society and nation over the course of nearly 250 years.

Criminals don't obey laws, that's what makes them criminals.

Yep. That's why we need gun control. You are not saying we should abandon all laws.....are you?

This is the same as trying to rank order your offspring. It is about as helpful as rank ordering grocery stores. You rank #1 the one you like and rank last the one you don't like at all ... which says absolutely nothing about an objective rational comparison.

Of course not but as Germany shows us, its not about the amount of guns you have in a society, it has to do with the propensity of people in that society to use them for violence.

Chicago and DC used to have the most draconian gun laws among American cities. Now they don't. Are things better? You tell me.
