Some historians have speculated over the years that the USA was on the verge of civil unrest in the 1930s thanks to the Republican created Great Depression. While this is in dispute (and I personally am not entirely sure that speculation was entirely justified), if it was true, then we have Democrat FDR for saving us from another civil unrest crisis.

Today, all the troubles are caused by your Republican heroes.

The Republican party today is not the same as it was in past decades because we have Trump. We have great leader ship right now and we are actually seeing some very positive things including a great economy. The Republican party is actually getting everything right this time and the Democrats are getting everything wrong but then when did the Democrats actually ever do anything great besides a national surplus with our money? Let's also not forget it was a Republican, Abraham Lincoln who ended slavery in this country.

 

I asked the poster of the lead article to support his claim that Proud Boys are a White Nationalist Hate Group and so far, crickets.

 

WW2 is what is said to have ultimately ended the great depression and not any one single US President. As for the possibility of a civil war during the 30's well I never researched that one so that is interesting.

Will you ever be happy with anything we do? The Republican party could end world hunger and create world peace and I bet you would still hate on them. The great depression did not end until everyone was working which was the result of WW2. Try doing your own thinking for a change.

In April 1939, almost ten years after the crisis began, more than one in five Americans still could not find work. On the surface, World War II seems to mark the end of the Great Depression.

I am not saying that WW2 was the only cause. FDR may have had a hand in helping the great depression end but WW2 was the beginning of the end. It was not just the Democrats that ended it. Without WW2 the recovery process probably would have taken a lot longer.

 

The balance is, I think, quite clearly in favor of Antifa as far as the initiation of violence goes. But violence of this nature is always unacceptable, I don't care who started it, you don't stomp on people on the ground.

Once you're on the ground you're out of the fight. This is a well recognised rule by most who fight.

Yeah I agree with you. I know WW2 ended the depression. The Democrats needed the war to save them and this country. Without WW2 the depression would have continued longer than it did.

 

I don't even think ww2 ended the depression, unless you mean the fact that we had to rebuild europe and parts of asia after the war.

Govt spending, either in times of depression or war, isn't great.
