Your desperate need to divert to bygone days is understandable but, as cited, Barack Obama took “direct responsibility” in remarks afterward, calling the moment “humbling.” https://www.theguardian.com/world/2010/nov/03/barack-obama-midterms-better-job
Not trying to divert anything, I was simply curious because I don't know. Certainly he had to blame someone or something for those massive losses.
As he noted, in the presidential tradition of honorably acknowledging where the buck stops, he took personal responsibility.
Obama's approval level on election day 2010 was only 44% and disapproval 48% - almost as bad as Trump's all time highs. That Obama went on to complete the two terms to which he was elected with over 51% of the popular vote at 59% approval and 37% disapproval should offer Trump hope that he might eventually overcome his relentlessly dismal standing (currently 42.8% approval and 52.2% disapproval) with the American people.
Trump may have lapsed into truth regarding the upcoming election: "I don't believe anybody has ever had this kind of impact!" https://www.businessinsider.com/trump-midterm-elections-republicans-lose-house-possibility-2018-10
Even in Kansas that is still struggling to recover from Sam Brownback's disastrous "Red State Model" "experiment", Trump is the rancid albatross around the necks on the chopping block of Republican incumbents.
All I'm seeing is OP going even more full weasel with every thread he dribbles out. Getting old is an understatement.
The chickenshit messiah is too feeble to accept responsibility for anything adverse, so Glorious Leader's predicted "Red Wave" that he had claimed is all about HIM is going to be one cherry-picking caper for which his goons will be sporting their rose-colored glasses. With an insurmountable GOP advantage in the number of Senate seats on the line in '18, it's obvious that's where Lyin' Don plans to abscond. The buck stops somewhere over there!
