What we don't know about this poll is how questions were phrased or how questions led to answers the poll wanted. Was it specific on what Trump's asking for which is fencing at strategic locations or did it lead people to believe Trump was shutting down government if he didn't get a concrete barrier from sea to sea.

This sentence in the article leads me to believe it led people to believe Trump wants a wall from sea to sea in this current budget.

"Only 7 percent of American voters surveyed support giving Donald Trump funding for his Mexico border wall"

The other thing that caught my eye is the following sentence and makes me wonder just who was polled.

"The poll also shows that a majority of the respondents, 57 percent, believe it’s likely that Russia “has compromising information“ on Trump."

The specific example of the principle of hammering your opponents with inanity is thus.. Brother's clients, the family of two people who were run over by a train (and thus dead) sued the RRco. In that particular town.. that is the way to socialist leeches gain riches.. sue a big company with deep pockets, and werein sits a bunch of socialist deadbeats on the jury (who else has the time to sit for months at a time) who are certain to punish the successful. The winning argument was .. the engineer did not immediately stop the train.. he cleared the intersection (absolutely correct action that thus allowed emergency vehicles to pick up the pieces) for months! my brother pounded and that point..for months! The RR company finally settled rather that see the case carry on for months more (and all the while paying their expensive attorneys) There was no justice in that settlement. I have no doubt that the family has since wasted the dividends from the death of their family members.

Did you really fail to read the OP? There's a ****ing picture of the question. I provided MULTIPLE links to the phrasing for EVERY question that they asked.

When 376 can dig 6 tunnels under the border wall and cross into the USA as they did near Yuma Az.a week ago on Monday the wall is worthless.

Your post makes almost no sense.

Analogies are inherently flawed. Analogies between the walls and door of a house and a 250 miles of border fencing along a 2000 miles border is inherently terrible because you will never be able to explain away all of the differences between those two unlike (by definition) things.

Thank you and as I suspected the questionn definitely made it sound like Trump's demanding funding for a border wall across the entire Mexican border which makes the poll dishonest and irrelevant.

That ends that. Poll and thread fail.

How does the question "definitely make it sound like Trump's demanding funding for a border wall across the entire Mexican border?"

"Dedicate funds for a border wall along the United States border" is pretty clear as to the meaning. It definitely leads you to believe a border wall along the entire border.
The question should have read "border security barriers in strategic locations in various high traffic areas along the border"

So where did the landslide come from? https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=HIllary+landslide

Explain? If the polls were so close, someone was either lying or.....whoops lying=) OR, like I said, the polls were WRONG, because the people weren't being honest due to backlash and hatred. And that backlash and hatred was being spewed by the MSM and everyone on the left, since their reach far outpaces anything remotely Right. How would you expect someone to react when all they hear from every angle is how racist and bigoted they are? And the average response is...since when am I racist?

I can't recall many polls at all that said it would be close. There were outliers, but you had to watch FOX just to get any sense that Trump even had a shot.

I guess? But if the people responding to this poll question are still under the impression that Trump still wants to build a border along the entire southern border, then that is a failure on Trump's part to message his proposal.

The landslide came from people interpreting how polling data nationwide and within each state would apply to models attempting to predict the future.

The polls were not lying, nor were the people trying to interpret the polling. Trump lost the popular vote by millions, but won the presidency because he won three states by a grand total of ~75,000 votes.

If you want to continue believing that there is a significant population of people out there who wish to hide like little bitches from pollsters, feel free. Just don't expect anyone to believe that they are large enough to mean that polling data should be shifted by anything more than 1-3% in your direction.

More like a constant drumbeat from the Democrats in DC and their media implying that's what this is all about along with never Trumpers that want to believe that is what this is all about and don't listen to trump or any alternative media that will give them the true story. Definitely a PR win for the left though. The poll question itself is indicative of the constant misrepresentation of what Trump wants.

Appreciate the numbers. Though it's important to note that 7% doesn't reflect that hundreds agree that it's a plausible idea. It's just that several scores of hundreds more, disagree that it's plausible. And I happen to be among the 7%(though I don't have a landline phone.) The 'Wall' is not a breach of US Law. It's not an Enabling Act. It doesn't make Trump a fuhrer. It installs a barricade(of whatever material) on the properly designated US borders.

That's it. That's what the argument is over. The Founders would be PISSED. And I am pissed. What Trump is asking, is utterly inconsequential to federal food assistance programs, or to air control workers. If you have to surrender a *bleeping* Wall, then SO BE IT. It's not like Trump is asking for emergency dictatorship powers.

Sign the bill, fully fund the border and get on with our lives.

    How should I know?

I can't even predict if I'm going to my favorite restaurant this weekend to that accuracy.

How would you like to evaluate public opinion?

Or did you think public opinion is irrelevant?
