Read this again: The number of justifiable homicides that occur in our nation each year pale in comparison to ... fatal unintentional shootings.

So yes, they do pose a danger to those fatally shot unintentionally

    2013-2015
    Gun-related accidental deaths: 1455
    Thus:
For every gun involved in an accidental death, >195.6 guns are used in self-defense.

Now, back to your utter and complete failure to support your claim:

You repeated the myth perpetrated by anti-gun fanatics that:
"...the gun ban resulted in lower murders by firearm...."
-Still- waiting for -you- to prove this claim with something other than a post hoc fallacy.
But you won't, of course, because you cannot.

despite the fact that he's joking?

It's myopic and flat-out wrong at times. Where I can see the humor, he's but a bad comedian, he's not that good at honesty.

I wonder if that data includes an instance in which a firearm is pulled on a criminal but not fired? I would love to know those numbers. I did it once, it changed everything. I would have been legal to shoot, but I backed up while drawing the pistol to gain distance. He stopped in his tracks. Many probably wish I had fired as he went on to commit several horrific crimes including murder of a pregnant woman, and elderly abuse. 20 year old kid with bipolar. I don't regret not shooting because all I would have known was I killed a 20 year old kid with bipolar.

And the number of so-called "fatal unintentional shootings" that occur in the united states each year are quite low when compared to and contrasted with other categories of non-malicious deaths. Therefore legal firearm owners are not the problem in need of being addressed.

    https://www.aftermath.com/content/accidental-shooting-deaths-statistics/

In 2016 there were 161,374 deaths from unintentional injuries, the overall 3rd ranking cause of death that year.

    • From 2006-2016, almost 6,885 people in the U.S. died from unintentional shootings. In 2016 alone, there were 495 incidents of accidental firearm deaths.
Less than five hundred unintentional deaths due to the misuse of firearms, out of over one hundred and sixty thousand deaths in the given year. That is not even one percent of the total numbers.

The math is simply not on the side of yourself in this particular matter.

    I am certain it does.
Most people stop when they see a gun pointed at them. Those that don't, get shot.

When someone gets run over and killed by a vehicle because they thought that walking on the street is safer than walking on the sidewalk then you would have a point ie people have to cross streets (no choice), people choose to carry guns.

Why are you even in this forum. You never contribute to any debate. You are obsessed with attacking the 2nd amendment using dishonest actions.

Now, back to your utter and complete failure to support your claim:

"...the gun ban resulted in lower murders by firearm...."

None of which changes or otherwise addresses the fact of the point raised. The annual number of supposedly "unintentional" deaths that can be attributed to the negligent, reckless, and ultimately illegal misuse of firearms, is exceedingly low. The basic math simply does not support the outrage, but rather serves to undermine it.

As I'm the creator of this thread I'm happy for anyone including "truth and justice" and yourself to comment. You might stamp your feet TOG but you are also a frustrated person that has demands. You forget that members here have a right to ignore them as they arent constructive in the bigger picture....and move forward. Chill.

It's not really it's the same thing. There's just more freedom in the United States so the markets a lot more saturated. We have a lot more freedom when it comes to speech.

For the US, this is pretty tame.
But, thanks for further exposing your ignorance.

Sorry -- I expect people to be intellectually honest, and admit it when it is shown they aren't.
    Silly, I know.

They tell themselves this lie but as they have most of them never left their state, how would they know? So I though to myself - when have I ever got into trouble for exercising my right to freedom of expression?

When I entered the USA once at Atlanta airport we were all forced to put our bags through the X Ray machine. So I asked the security guy why we were being made to do this resulting in a delay of several hours and many missed connections.

"How", I asked " does it make sense to check people on arrival to the United States? Is it not too late buy then. Would it not be wiser to make sure no-one can actually board a flight TO the United States than to check us for bombs after we have already landed".

It was made quite clear to me that if I uttered another word I would be arrested. Legally I was in no different position than an American. I had already passed immigration and was lawfully in the country.

What freedoms do they have regarding freedom of speech that do not exist in the UK for example?

Yes the TSA is a constitutional violation and that sort of thing is exactly why I say that. But in terms of comedians... Though the outrage culture is quickly killing any kind of humor, you generally don't have to worry about saying things.
