We already knew about Trump's personal role (and the attempt to hide the role) in the security clearance override for his daughter and his son-in-law. And now it appears that the willingness to dismiss national security concerns extended much farther and wider, perhaps to include the likes of John Bolton.

And why did those national security threats want daddy's help to get security authorization? Profit.

It is time to light 'em up with subpoenas.

 

Sort of defeats the purpose of getting a security clearance if you are going to let every Tom, Dick and Jared look at our top secret stuff without one.

That loophole in our government needs to be shutdown ASAP. Although only lowlifes like Trump appointees needed to use it.

 

Says the people who gave Pakistani intelligence access to all our files.

I think a reasonable argument could be made for including more congressional oversight that would come into play as soon as an individual is denied security authorization.

If the president believes that person needs security clearance, despite the finding that they pose a national security threat, then the president should have to explain himself to Congress (at the minimum).

The source is a whistleblower from the office tasked with evaluating and making recommendations regarding national security clearance authorization.

You want me to tell you why it is concerning that ~25 people were evaluated as national security threats that should not get the requested level of security clearance and the White House overruled that recommendation?

 

Was it hard to figure out that the people you'd like to have oversight have themselves employed spies and foreign intelligence agents, and why that might be bad?

You need to explain why Jared Kushner getting a security clearance concerns you more than Pakistani intelligence getting security clearances.

A) I still dont know what you are referencing or its relevance with the Pakistani thing.

B) I am concerned because of the very reason that he was initially denied clearance, i.e. his extensive business dealings and debts with foreign nationals means that he has an incentive to disclose national secrets in exchange for leniency and profit.

 

Wait until Mueller gets ahold of this, oh wait...
