52 shot, 10 killed in gang-fueled weekend violence in Chicago

How is this a race bait thread? White teenager grins at an Indian and the media exploded with racism and white supremacy. Black people murder themselves, in spite of there being laws against murder themselves, and it race baiting to mention it.

Check out what's happening in Portland. Where are the media meltdowns and liberal riots?

considering their recent flurry of legislation, it wouldn't surprise me.

funny but my family group chat (90% from illinois) have been chatting up the legalization and casino thing but haven't mentioned the tax hikes that were included once, they either don't know or don't care. (I think its #1)

Most of these people (commenting on this "Gun Violence") have never even been to Chicago.

Certain people just get their confirmation bias from RW Fever Swamp Fantasy Sites, and then they use this "Chicago is Violent" BS as an excuse to throw shade at "Dems" and "Liberals".

I go to Chicago regularly (almost every weekend in the Summer), as I have for the last 20 years.

Outside of Police Sidearms, I have never even seen a gun (much less witnessed a shooting).

Every major city has "bad neighborhoods".

It has nothing to do with the Political Party in Power.

 

And this is SOOOO interesting to you. I wonder why.

If calling water "wet" could be used as an excuse for the RW Fever Swamp to throw shade at "Dems" and "Liberals", I am sure that Breitbart would post 10 articles a day (on the "Water is Wet" revelation).

 

I'm not really sure this is a problem that anyone but local citizens and govt can address. When there's no opportunity, there's no hope. But I see nearly free education for HS grads with grades, and of course there's ROTC. Not every kid in my city's inner city schools becomes a killer or murder victim.

You realize that the people who burned down that CVS and the people who complained about it being burned it down were not the same people. Black people aren't some sort of monolithic group who get together and decide actions together. Most people who lived there obviously had nothing to do with looting or arson. It makes no sense to say 'they' as though every single person in the ghetto wantes to burn down their supermarket. Most were probably super pissed about a few looters.

 

You're essentially saying that anywhere with large populations of blacks will have a lot of black-on-black violence. But how come areas with large populations of whites aren't plagued by white-on-white violence the way large populations of blacks are plagued by black-on-black violence? Are you implying whites can cohabit with whites more peacefully than blacks can cohabit with blacks?

And yet...... who are they more likely to blame and be the most pissed at? The looters for looting in the first place, or CVS for not wanting to rebuild?

 

You're probably right. But these inner city people have a history or reputation of not wanting to turn their neighbors in when they go bad. I think retribution for that sort of stuff weighs heavily on the minds of the people who live there so they play it safe and keep quiet.

white areas with lots of poverty, economic failure and extreme socio-economic inequality have lots of white-on-white crime.
