    There's more than a small possibility this may have been an intentional homicide, and the perpetrator just creatively came up with an excuse to try to get off the hook.

    They'll likely interview friends and neighbors to see if there was any evidence of prior domestic abuse.

    I like that ... she "was allegedly shot in the upper body". That's like in the TV series COPS when police say the victim was killed "in the kitchen area" and the victim's wife claims he was hit "in the nose area".

    Well, using a loaded gun in foreplay is not exactly using it for intended purpose. You’d probably have similar outcome if you were to use sharp kitchen knives for sexual games.

    I still can’t believe someone would use a loaded gun to turn on their partner. That’s like the dumbest idea ever! Wanna play with a gun? Disarm it first!

    If you are a policeman security guard or member of a gun club doing competition shooting, don't know of other accepted reasons. Self defense is not considered to be an acceptable reason for owning a gun here in NSW Australia by an ordinary member of the public.
