Yes, Trump’s tweets are stupidly superficial, but his underlying premise, the policies these Progressive preachers preach, have been tried, in their respective nations of heritage, and they failed horribly, bloodily, and with screams of terror.

One of the people being attacked here is descended from slaves who likely arrived here before the ancestors of many of the white people agreeing with Trump (and probably before some of Trump's ancestors). Another is the child of people who were born US citizens in a US territory whose citizens have been US citizens for over a century.

So, this isn't about 'birthright citizenship', its about colour.

Anyone who has any doubts about what American conservatism has become should shed any lingering doubts - it has become a vicious, populist nativist movement that only barely tolerates the existence of minorities.
