Trump's rhetoric once again supports white supremacists

Hundreds of far-right protesters swarmed downtown Portland on Saturday with many of them looking as if they were ready to do battle against the anti-fascist demonstrators who’d gathered to confront them. But the “potentially dangerous and volatile” situation the city’s mayor had warned of seems to have fizzled out rather quickly after the Proud Boys and other far-right groups behind the protest reportedly asked police to help them leave the area.

“Go look at President Trump’s Twitter,” Proud Boys protest organizer Joe Biggs told The Oregonian when asked what message the group wanted to convey. “He talked about Portland, said he’s watching antifa. That’s all we wanted. We wanted national attention, and we got it. Mission success.”

In the tweet, Trump said “major consideration” was being given to naming antifa as an “organization of terror.”

Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler responded to the jab by saying the President’s tweet was “not helpful.”

Police seized weapons from multiple groups at the rally, including metal poles, shields and bear spray. But by late afternoon, no major bloodshed had been reported, despite some of the far-right leaders explicitly calling for violence in the run-up to the much-hyped protest. More than 1,000 Portland police officers were on duty for the event, along with more than two dozen other law enforcement agencies, including the FBI.

Consideration is being given to declaring ANTIFA, the gutless Radical Left Wack Jobs who go around hitting (only non-fighters) people over the heads with baseball bats, a major Organization of Terror (along with MS-13 & others). Would make it easier for police to do their job!

Looks like a group wanting to engage in terror to me. If they again use violence to shut down politial speech they do not like why shouldn't they be labeled a terrorist group?

 

I just went to the store to get a six pack of stubby Coors, I assure you it was much easier to get than a "military grade weapon". You cannot purchase a "military grade" AR in a store or gun show unless you have filled out miles of paperwork and paid a huge tax.

Trump has a big mouth. He needs to be at the center of everything. The smart thing to do would be to stay out of this fracas, but he is too stupid to know that. He must be the center attention every time even if he is making a fool of himself.

There are more clues that he is not a well man. Sweating down the face at news conferences which are at his choosing with reporters chosen by him is a sure sign something is wrong with him.

Think of all the rays of light President Trump has cast upon the malcontent lefties by forcing them to vent their rage by posting endless drivel in the media and on political forums. A few here that complain about being "attacked" by other forum members have nothing on President Trump. This guy has been under siege since day one of his presidency and yet he still enjoys poking his finger in their eye every chance he gets. He clearly is tougher than Fauxhontas's mini pad.

True, but this thread concerns a protest by the Proud Boys who received inspiration from Trump.

No one can control from they divine inspiration but no one needs to try to engage in violence to deny them their right to express their political views, their free speech. People who do that to other people are acting in a terroristic manner and are terrorist.
