Why aren't Feminists protesting how women are treated in some Middle Eastern countries like women being stoned to death for being gang raped instead of protesting the really important things like how women are portrayed in make believe video games???

Feminists don't protest the treatment of women in the middle East because Feminists are liberals and liberals believe in multiculturalism and multiculturalism trumps women's rights.

So you can't give us evidence of your point.

    Thank you.

I don't think that means what you wanted it to mean?

    Recap:
Ryobi says feminists don't protest the horrors against women in the ME.
You ask him to give ten examples of feminists protesting the horrors against women in the ME.
Since he already stated that feminists don't protest the horrors, he says he can't give you examples of feminists protesting the horrors because feminists don't protest the horrors.
You say he failed to give evidence of his point.

It isn't Ryobi that failed here.

Probably because it is in the Middle East?

Why do you suppose Christians are not protesting against starving children in North Korea?
Why are there no Protests being instigated by American gun owners against Australia?

There are feminists protesting the treatment of women in the Middle East, but by feminists in and from those countries, where the protests actually have meaning and impact. Media coverage of such protests in the West is minimal because they’re silenced in their countries and because Western authorities don’t want the boat rocked too much among their valuable trading allies. Marching in Washington to protest the Saudi government would make as much sense as marching in Riyadh to protest the US government.

Women’s rights are also at a different stage and are naturally improving in different ways to in the West and the socio-political environment is obviously different too. therefore the efforts necessary are different. Big protests aren’t the most effective way forwards and it’s much more quiet and subtle pressures and developments that are slowly gaining traction in the field. There will be Western groups and individuals supporting campaigners in the Middle East to progress that too, though it’s not always going to be in their interests to shout about it, at home or abroad.

Why aren't you out there protesting the treatment of women in the Middle East?

Okay, so a little closer to home then... Why don't feminists protest rap songs here in America?

"Content analyses have found that approximately 22% to 37% of rap lyrics contain some misogyny, depending on subgenre.[8][9][10] Individual artists have been shown to use such lyrics more or less frequently. Detroit-based rapper Eminem, for example, used misogyny in eleven of the 14 songs on his third studio album The Marshall Mathers LP (2000).[8] Common misogynistic themes include the use of derogatory names such as "bitch" and "ho", sexual objectification of women, legitimization of violence against women, distrust of women, the belittling of sex workers and glorification of pimping.[11]"

They do. There are references to protests in that Wikipedia article literally three paragraphs down from the one you quoted.

Why aren’t you out there protesting misogyny in rap music?

I protest rap in general by not listening to it and bitching about it. I don't even call it music, I call it crap.

I hope you're wrong because the internet's not going away. Magazines, newspapers, and to a lesser extent, radio and television are going away because of the internet, not vice-versa.

The LW had no trouble protesting South African Apartheid. The feminists seem to have no problem with things like forced marriages of underage girls, female genital mutilation, wife beating, and honor killings. Sharia Law itself is gender apartheid. Feminists are really only the ladies auxiliary of the LW.

We could twist the OP around and ask why Republicans are attacking women's rights here and why aren't mid-easterners protesting that …:)

If they believed multiculturalism trumps women's rights then they are not feminists.

    You are talking in circles.

What are YOU doing about how women are treated in some Middle Eastern countries like women being stoned to death for being gang raped ????

Are you fighting against American women having the right to their own bodies taken away ???

Which countries are you talking about? FGM is rare in the Gulf States .. honor killings are unheard of and treated like murder, women have the right to refuse any suitor and write their own marriage contract.

Where have you lived in the Muslim world?
