Abdul-Majeed Marouf Ahmed Alani has been charged with "willfully damaging, destroying, disabling, or wrecking an aircraft, and attempting to do so," according to a criminal complaint filed in federal court.

Well, well, well. This guy doesn't even deny he tampered with the controls.

"An American Airlines employee, allegedly angry over stalled union contract talks with the company, has been accused of disabling the navigation system on a flight slated to take off from Miami over the summer, investigators said Thursday."

    https://www.foxnews.com/travel/american-airlines-mechanic-miami-tampering-plane-takeoff

The flight had 150 people on board.

This happened back in July but I think it is back in the news because the guy was supposed to be in court today.

    No link?

User "Libby" posted a link in Post #3.

    The link was Titled:

American Airlines mechanic allegedly tampered with plane in Miami to delay or cancel flight

It looks like you titled the OP incorrectly. You may want to fix that.

Because, it almost "appears" as if you are trying to add to the Monthly Quota of indiscriminate "Muslim Hate" threads.

Of course, I know that you would NEVER do that.

Still, you may want to *edit* the OP.

Nothing personal, of course. Just a friendly suggestion.:salute:

Obviously, the perp (regardless of their name) should should face the max sentence. :flagus:

The story on the evening news was that he was angry about double-time pay.

Right. You accept the job, then think you are aggrieved about the pay, so you try to take down one of your employer's aircrafts and put passengers at risk.

    I don't hardly think so.

The plane was never at risk as the safety start up software would stop take off hence the title of the link being "....to delay or cancel flight"

Try and post relevant comments, can you? Here is a clue; how do you think they discovered the fault?

So that exonerates him from trying to crash a plane loaded with people.

You're right, let him off. No attempted terrorism here.

    Brilliant.

OK, for all you hyperliberals, focused endlessly on your obsession with political-correctness, here's the story in one of your most beloved, and equally obsessively politically-correct news sources, THE NEW YORK TIMES: https://www.nytimes.com/2019/09/06/us/american-airlines-mechanic-sabotage.html

In the story, you will see, plainly, "The mechanic, Abdul-Majeed Marouf Ahmed Alani, 60, of Tracy, Calif., told investigators on Thursday that he had tampered with the air data module system on Flight 2834 from Miami to Nassau in the Bahamas on July 17...." Whether this dangerous saboteur 'hits the prayer rug five times a day' or not is irrelevant... he IS who he IS.

    NOW... are you satisfied...? :nana:

Because it was rushed to market and ignored by our incompetent and corrupt FAA under the current administration.

Several countries have indicated they will no longer honor our certification approvals as a result.

You seem to have no problem with the act of terrorism because it didn’t succeed.

Err, it was not an act of terrorism. It was an act done in order for the airline to lose money due to a cancelled flight because the employee was pissed off. There are literally thousands of acts like these carried out every year by employees against their employers because of money complaints. Which bit don't you understand?

it could be, Union employees sometimes do this kinda thing during disputes, but I think terrorism needs to be investigated too, especially if it's shown he is a religious fanatic

This is not a conservative of liberal issue. We do not know if this guy is a political terrorist. We do not know if he is a Muslim terrorist. We do know that he has a MiddleEastern sounding name. So is everyone who has a Middle Eastern sounding name a terrorist??

I think most Muslims and Christians are good people, but just cause one is religious does not mean they are good people or mentally fit

remember this Christian pilot that killed himself and his passengers (around 150 of them) and tried to make it look like he died trying to save people, these people are sick in the head

"Hometown pastor says community stands by co-pilot, family"

    https://www.latimes.com/nation/chi-french-alps-plane-crash-20150329-story.html

the preacher had this to say

"The co-pilot, the family belong to our community, and we stand by this, and we embrace them and will not hide this, and want to support the family in particular, Dietrich said."

"Dietrich, the pastor, said he knew Lubitz as a teenager, when he attended religious education 13 years ago, and his mother, who worked as a part-time organist in the community."
