Well, I hope. The "Hail Mary pass" is what the Republicans on the Intelligence Committee are doing.

And if the Republicans wanted a real leader Trump would have been laughed out of the primaries in early 2016. Pretty sad.

You're welcome to name someone better in either party, then work to promote them.

I like Sasse, Kasich, Gabbard, Sanders, Weld, Warren, Booker, Buttigeig, Harris and some others from both sides that I can’t think of right now. I don’t necessesarily agree with all of their positions on certain issues but I think any of them could be effective leaders if given the chance. Many times people of integrity and intelligence rise to the occasion. In my opinion, Trump has little or no integrity and lacks the knowledge and character for the job.

The RNC believed his bluff...to run as a self-financed, independent. They were scared to death he'd be the next "Ross Perot,"split the Republican vote and elect another Clinton in the same way the first Clinton had been elected.

I wouldn't call Harris or Buttigieg leaders. They twist in the wind according to their pollsters.

That may be your opinion and you are certainly entitled to it. My point is that the people I mentioned could very well become strong effective leaders. My take is that Trump lacks leadership qualities because of his utter lack of integrity and knowledge.

Where are the dem leaders with integrity and intelligence?

Im seeing attempts to circumvent the will of the people (Trumps victory), with little intelligence in view. Orange man bad has been the refrain for the last 2 years-and the lefts solution is not to implement solutions to real problems-but to attack the bad orange man.

There has been no introspection on the reasons democrats lost in 2016.

We all see the world through different prisms. I see it much differently. Maybe it’s genetic.

You are an outspoken supporter of Katie Hill.

Can you tell us about her integrity and knowledge that led to your support?

Saying the man who won fair and square "stole" the election is genetic?

I supported her over the incumbent Knight. Knight was a hard core Trumper who parroted Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh. Katy ran as an alternative to Trumpism in general, she is a lifelong resident of our district and knew her constituency and her district very well. She was also an ardent and long time advocate for homeless veterans and mentally ill people. She evidently used some bad judgement in her personal life which created a scandal and she resigned. I still like her and wish her the best in the rest of her life going forward.

You defended her when it was clear she was a sexual predator using her office to do as much.

Once that became clear-you didn't retract your support.

So do I. Hopefully you don't contest the shady voting policies in democrat cities/districts.

Trump still won. Saying he didnt get the popular vote is immaterial.

There is no evidence that she preyed on anyone. She was caught in a compromising position on camera. Those photos were taken before she was sworn into congress. You are just making things up as usual.

He certainly did but I do not trust the count. Like I said, in order for any Democrat to win in the swing states they have to get their vote out en masses and win big. Otherwise, GOP schemes to scrub voter rolls and create voting problems in heavily Democratic districts will prevail and provide slim margins of victory in targeted states. The GOP has become very proficient in voter suppression schemes and have been working at it for decades now. They know that the less people who vote, the better it is for them.

Just the nature of her position of power over her subordinates is enough to demonstrate a predatory relationship. Thats why the senate ethics committee implemented the policy.

The photos, while terrible (including the nazi iron cross) are not why she stepped down, nor were they in violation (in and of themselves) of said congressional ethics policies.

I have had several sexual liaisons with people I have worked with in my life. If you spend a lot of time working, these things are bound to happen from time to time. Some were subordinates and some were superiors. I never felt that I was being taken advantage of nor did I ever use my position to take advantage of a woman. We were just young adults doing what came naturally. No sexual harassment charge has been made against Hill. I like her and feel bad for what happened here. I wish her well. She resigned for Christ’s sake. The real question is why people like you keep gossiping about her and trashing her like a bunch of sanctimonious old broads at a beauty parlor.

If you allow pictures to be taken that could compromise your position you have to accept the consequences if they are ever leaked, especially in the digital age. It's not like you can just destroy them like printed pics so if you have any sort of political ambition it's best not to have them taken to begin with.

It's not rocket science and the best thing to do is just own it.

Dude I have been a pizza delivery driver, musician, paramedic, and practice medicine now. I get it. Been there.

We hold our elected leaders to a higher standard. No harassment charge needed. If you knew the policies you would know your lame excuses are not appropriate at that level.

She resigned only to save the party from future embarrassment-just damage control.

In the end SHE knew better-and so do you. Stop with the weaksauce-it doesn't matter.

Well said and we should expect as much from our elected "leaders".
