Hawley on the *extraordinary* performance from House managers so far

"If the point was to go on for 13 hrs to no apparent purpose, frequently using rebuttal time to delay further & alienate the very senators that they're trying to convince then I'd say it was a raging success…"

Trump made history today as the Dems admitted on the Senate Floor he was the first President to be impeached without committing a crime.

That is wholly inaccurate. Multiple times throughout the day the White House managers said that trump broke the law.

Both articles are allegations that trump committed crimes against the US Constitition.

And that is not what you previously said.

They are both high crimes and misdemeanors. So yes, they are crimes against the US Constitution.

Republicans: The Impeachment Trial is a repetition of stuff we already know.

Also Republicans: We are not going to allow Democrats to find new information.

Sucks the dems didn’t do their job.

You can sum up today’s clown show like this:

Trump not only disagreed with us, he disagreed with the career bureaucrats too, and even delayed a fancy Oval Office meeting!

They are neither. The first is opinion and the second is farcical since the dem clown show abandoned process and want to impeach for upholding the separation of powers.

Day Three is now wrapping up.

A few of the bigger moments include the use by Nadler of the video clip from Lindsey Graham noting that impeachment does not require a crime. Lindsey Graham was not sitting in his desk at the time.

Garcia spent a lengthy period of time attempting to undercut the expected defense from the Republicans by destroying the allegations against Joe Biden. It was arguably one of the most important segments. The Republicans are claiming the lengthy reference to the Biden Conspiracy as a justification to discuss him themselves, although there is absolutely zero reason to believe that would not happen anyways. And without a rebuttal, it makes sense to destroy the talking point ahead of time. Her use of the video clip from Trump's appointee (name escapes me atm) to crush Giuliani drew audible laughs from both sides.

Schiff continues to be the most effective and persuasive. His line about giving Trump credit for making Putin into a religious man got the biggest laugh. Also, his list and detail of the (at least) 10 reasons that we know Trump wanted a purely personal political gain (post #86) was also very effective.

Schiff says the reason that we need to remove Trump is because Trump is dangerous to us and our country when he repeatedly chose to believe Rudy Giuliani over people like Christopher Wray. And that he choose a personal political benefit over the truth needed to protect this country.

I don't know the specific US Law.....but it seems it is an offence (as it ought to be) for anyone to suspend the payment of aid authorised by Congress and certified as payable by the OMB.

Why? I am not the one saying it is a crime. The question is why didn't the same folks impeaching Trump impeach obama for doing the same thing? Why didn't they go after Biden for his quid pro quo deal for his son?

What rubbish, but if there is truth to it....get after the Bidens. No skin off my nose. But the point is.....whatever Biden did...does not excuse Trump.

    So now facts are rubbish?

There is nothing Trump needs to be excused about.

I believe the screeching dems who are after Trump for purely fabricated reasons should go after Biden. They are the ones who are so outraged over what they see as sketchy conduct. So why are they only going after their political opponent. Perhaps because they are a bunch of corrupt hypocrites? The answer: Yes, they are.

Trump is not being impeached because he broke the Impoundment Control Act. He is impeached because he abused the power of his office and obstructed congress.

The fact that he also broke the law is a bonus.
