In an open letter, the group wrote that “being gay is not enough to earn the support of LGBTQIA communities.” Protesters interrupted the fundraiser at San Francisco’s National LGBTQ Center, with some chanting: “Hey Pete, stop it, put people over profit" and "Hey Pete, come out, we've got some things to talk about," according to SFGate. San Francisco-based members of the Democratic Socialists of America were also among those demonstrating. “He can’t be using his gay card to propel his campaign,” one protester told a reporter, according to SFGate. “He is not representative of our community. He may be representative of part, but not all –– especially the most marginalized and disenfranchised ones.” https://thehill.com/changing-americ...ttigieg-met-with-queers-against-pete-protests As a rule, lefties eat their own. Bootygig presents himself as a moderate, which is outraging Queers against Pete, as well as socialist groups in San Francisco. Bootygig has fallen in recent polling, being beat by Bernie Sanders and Michael Bloomberg.
So what? There were Blacks that voted against Obama and Women that voted against Hillary. What is your point? Are expecting "Identity Politics" to dictate everyone's votes? It seems to be a rather narrow-minded view of people's choices.
I think Buttigeg is getting desperate. He is behind Bernie and looks like he will soon be behind Bloomberg, but I can't see him being behind Warren or Klobuchar. I think he is sad that Booker and Yang pulled out.
Pete is Toast. He was the "Flavor of the Month" for awhile (in a couple of 90+% White Small States). If Pete stays in after Super Tuesday he is setting money on fire.
“Hey Pete, come out” Now that’s funny. People would not vote for him just because he is gay and people would vote him just because he is gay. Nothing new there, Same with female, latinos or blacks running for office. It’s always been stupid to base your vote on that kinda of stuff. But people do, some are called out for prejudice because of it, others are not.
That's too funny. LGBTQ "united", but not if you aren't the "right kind" of LGBTQ. No wonder a lot of the saner ones are walking away from the tribalism and cliquishness of the left.
People were doing that to Senator Tim Scott (flooding his Twitter with Uncle Tom and Race Traitor labels) after the not-guilty vote on impeachment. They already knew that Sen. Scott is "not black enough" to be one of them since he's a conservative. He Tweeted a reply, "Just checked. Still black." Perhaps Buttigieg should respond just as simply, "Just checked. Still gay."
Maybe the radical scolding will teach him a lesson....and he'll run as a Republican in 2024, where gays are allowed to be conservative and still be "gay enough". The right is the new party of tolerance.
This sounds like certain people accusing others of not being black enough. He’s gay but not really gay. He’s black but not really black black. Do you have to reach a certain level of queen to be considered legit or something? It’s all so silly.
Ruh roh. Trouble in paradise Queer-idise. He apparently held the event in a poor neighborhood of San Fran but admission cost $250 per seat. Supporters were "rich whites", Buttigieg's main support group. That makes Pete "less gay".
