Many observers feel for a variety of reasons that Mike Bloomberg will become the nominee of the Democratic Party. Senile Biden is weakening as Bloomberg grows stronger. The party won't make the mistake of nominating an Independent socialist, and the progressive, Warren, is also losing support since she explained how free everything would be paid for. There are serious doubts the party will experiment at this crucial time with a female or gay candidate.

    That leaves Mike Bloomberg.

If so, Trump has no chance once Americans compare the two, and Trump's forever loyal and uninformed base is not sufficient to carry him to the top.

Let's compare the two. Bloomberg made it on his own. Bloomberg was born at St. Elizabeth's Hospital, in Brighton, a neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, on February 14, 1942, to William Henry Bloomberg, a bookkeeper for a dairy company, and Charlotte (Rubens) Bloomberg. His family is Jewish. Bloomberg's paternal grandfather, Alexander "Elick" Bloomberg, was an immigrant from Russia. Bloomberg's maternal grandfather, Max Rubens, was an immigrant from what is present-day Belarus.

In 1973, Bloomberg became a general partner at Salomon Brothers, a large Wall Street investment bank, where he headed equity trading and, later, systems development. In 1981, Salomon Brothers was bought by Phibro Corporation, and Bloomberg was laid off from the investment bank. He was given no severance package, but owned $10 million worth of equity as a partner at the firm.

Using this money, Bloomberg, having designed in-house computerized financial systems for Salomon, went on to set up a company named Innovative Market Systems (IMS). Today, Bloomberg is worth $61.8 billion.

Trump's estimated net worth is $3.1 billion, and he was born with a silver spoon. All his wealth is inherited from his father, including consultants who keep the Trump organization profitable despite Trump's countless expensive mistakes. Lawyers are making a fortune off of Trump with his numerous bankruptcies and lawsuits.

Trump's Presidency is a disaster. He has done nothing for our booming economy except threaten it with high tariffs and a trade war with China. His domestic policy is nonexistent as he spends all his time protecting his friends from prosecutors. Six of his close associates face prison time, including his campaign manager and deputy campaign manager, along with his personal lawyer (Cohen) and former NSA. His foreign policy is catastrophic, creating a threat to our national security. He does not get along well with the leadership of our allies and friends while embracing autocrats like Putin, Kim, and Xi. Because of his obvious bias towards Israel, the U.S. has been thrown out of Middle East talks, replaced by Russia.

Bloomberg is honest to a fault. Indeed, as we speak, Bloomberg is being assaulted by some for his brutally honest statements of the past.

Compare this to Trump. We no longer can trust anything the President says. Think of that. Americans can't trust what their President says. Why? Three years after taking the oath of office, Trump has made more than 16,200 false or misleading claims — a milestone that would have been unthinkable when Fact Checker’s database was first created. The data analyzes, categorizes and tracks every suspect statement Trump has uttered.

No sitting President has ever faced a formidable opponent like Bloomberg, and Bloomberg is determined to unseat Trump. Whatever Trump does, Bloomberg will counter with 17 times the impact. This will be new to Trump who is used to getting his way as President. During the upcoming campaign, that will no longer be true.

    Trump doesn't stand a chance.

    Trump stands a chance!

Counting Sanders and Warren together, over 55% of Nevada Democrats want a socialist to become the Democratic Party's candidate. Nevada Caucuses 2020: Live Results and Coverage - The New York Times

It is difficult to believe that so many Democrats actually think Sanders will be able to deliver on his socialist promises. When Trump and his cronies say they will defeat the socialist Democrats -- which they say often -- Sanders supporters are proving Trump and his cronies right.

It is time to consider that Democrats will cause Trump to remain in office for another four years. Unbelievable!

Look how many Republicans voters believed Trump would get Mexico to pay for the wall ... believe voters can be duped.

Bloomberg watches people create political memes for Trump at no charge and pays people to make meme advertisements.

Result: Bloomberg becomes a meme. Maybe he'll figure out after several more millions of bucks that the left can't meme.

Those ads he bought on the rolling digital billboard in Vegas are really awful. One is "Trump Eats Burnt Steaks". What's the point exactly? :icon_picknose:

It is encouraging though that in America, one can be a complete moron and earn billions of dollars with hard work and capitalism!

Is it just me, or do the first two posts made within a couple minutes of each other seem to completely contradict each other. :confusion:

Either way, Bloomberg can't win with Democrats because racism, sexism, billionaire-ism and his complete lack of ability to reasonably defend his actions in a national debate.

Sanders can't win a majority, only a plurality...and Warren is only pretending to be a Socialist because it was an easier path for her to take in competition against Bernie than as a moderate against Biden/Buttigieg/Klobuchar.

    Trump certainly can win.

This is actually way worse than Hillary. The liberals hate Trump so much they will believe anything anyone tells them. None of these candidates has an answer for Trump's economy and they pretend higher taxes and open borders is a winner...

Trump supporters take what Trump says at rallies seriously, but not literally.
Democrats take what Trump says at rallies seriously and literally now. In 2016, the left took him literally but not seriously.

There is Trump the showman, who exaggerates his points at rallies. And there is Trump the worker and accomplisher, outside of rallies.

Wall or no wall, and who paid for said wall, makes no difference. Trump slowed the flow of illegals from Central America into this country to a bare trickle. It doesn't matter how he did it. Promises made. Promises kept.

Besides, who is paying for the Mexican military who are now guarding their southern border to keep migrants from moving into Mexico from Central America? It's a "wall" made of people with guns...and we're not paying for it. :)

This cycle is looking awfully similar to the 2016 Republican Party primary. Yeah. Trump can’t win.

2020 might end up as dueling “populists” with one scaring the crap out of our black, brown, Asian, and female population and other scaring whites over 45 and the “establishment” of both party’s.

I do believe the depth of the anger of the working class is being underestimated, again.

The difference is that because of the winner-take-all delegate rules set by the GOP, Trump was able to rack up 1542 delegates, and he only needed 1237 to win the majority of delegates and the nomination.

The DNC's rules for proportional allocation of delegates is having Bernie win states without winning the majority of delegates. Bernie may not earn the 1991 delegates he needs to fly through to the nomination.

A brokered convention would be fun to witness just once in my lifetime.

I would like to see it too. It wouldn't be pretty though.

Did you know that if there was a tie in Nevada they would decide the winner by a draw from a deck of cards?

Yes, I read that. Iowa decided by flip of a coin. Nevada by drawing cards...Ace's High!!! Step right up folks and place your bets on the winner.

Bernie hit big numbers in Nevada. Was a powerful statement - especially after winning the previous 2.

Bloomberg has baggage - and he is coming in late - and Bernie voters are not switching to Bloom any time soon .. which means Bloom has to fight it out with all the other horses - before even getting a whiff of Bernie's behind.

Buttigieg won Iowa. Bernie has accumulated 31 out of 74 delegates awarded so far, or 42%. Nevada finals may pull him close to just under 50% of delegate wins out of three small states.

You are correct though....most Bernie voters are unlikely to switch to Bloomberg, or any other candidate....but especially not Bloomberg.

Obviously it is early in the race - Iowa was nit picking - Bernie has emerged out of Nevada doing very well - the OP was arguing that Bloom is the savior .. A savoir that came late to the race and has opened with a thud.

No one can be counted out though - because at some point we will sift through the other horses and there will be a contender against Bernie.

Just saying that for now he is on a roll .. and seems to be building momentum .. His % with latino's was very high - and he did fairly well with blacks which could improve - and younger voters.

    Super Tuesday will be interesting.

Yes, Sanders is currently polling just under 30% in the national polls. Being the frontrunner is flattering, but he still has to win 50% of delegates, regardless of popular contests and taking a plurality of the delegate count.

Nevada puts Biden back in third place in the "race for 2nd" between Buttigieg and Biden. Biden is also projected to win South Carolina.

Super Tuesday surely will be interesting.

    National polling...
