Only more 'tech' will give us less pollution, not more. Unless you want to somehow eliminate about 95% of the people now existing, and even that wouldn't work. Just the dead bodies would pollute the Earth so badly we would all die from disease in a year.

All other animals seem to put a challenge to themselves, migrations and what not. Almost a rite of passage.
I think it has to do with a group stressing itself purposely.

We seem to be slaved to our desire to be the fittest, which is what has made the human race so powerful.

Being the most insecure animal on earth makes us fear too much and we seem to appease that fear with violence and killing.

Tech needs cash to seek solutions and most governments are not funding the research required to find solutions.

We could reduce pollution tomorrow if we changed our ways but we are too slow to do so without actual legislation.

I proposed some time ago that we should pump our human waste onto the land to have nature produce top soil instead of dumping it all into our water ways and polluting them. You might say that the idea was shat on.

We do the cheapest thing and not the most profitable thing and our world is telling us we are stupid.

Warriors have always killed 'the other tribe'. It's an essential part of securing food/resources so that their own will survive. That IS saving lives.

 

But if your tribe eating depends upon killing members of a neighbouring tribe (who are hogging local resources), then that's what must happen.

The fact the the USA had mobile gallows in europe during WW2 to execute its own soldiers who were commiting murders and rapes demonstrate that american are just as human as the germans, japaneses and soviets.

 

More recent than that. We are all descendents of the rapacious barbarians who conquered the peaceful agrarians, killed the men and raped the women. Of course we are programmed to kill and rape. Those are the genes which survived.

I do not have time for your link but what is supposed to be the main difference or reason for the comparison?

Brains all work the same way and the only difference is the size and possibly the complexity of ours, although I have not seen where we are more complex than in other mammals.
