What is wrong with me choosing what company I should spend my money at? Since Dicks own Golf Galaxy I choose not to help out Dicks bottom line. I thought you would be intelligent enough to make that connection, guess iwas wrong. You see I understand that Golf Galaxy does not sell guns nor have they ever sold guns since they are a golf store. Seems that point is lost on you to. You libs are most definitely not with it and can't connect the dots very well. By the ways I will save you the trip in to Guitor Center, they sells guitars.

Hell, most hardware stores sold them at one time.

I think they are trying to go out of business. They did this previously and lost 1/4 billion bucks because of it. Maybe they are catering to the Sierra Club kind of crowd. Good luck with that. I can't wait till they close the doors. Such a stupid gesture.

Get Woke, Go Broke: DICK’S Continues to Bleed Sales

"Dick’s Sporting Goods CEO Ed Stack admits his company’s unilateral anti-gun positions have cost his company dearly. Stack admits to destroying $5 million worth of America’s favorite rifles, the AR-15 and others like it, “to keep them off the street.”

Not only that, but policies like discriminating against under 21s for gun and ammo sales have cost the company right about $250 million.

He apparently relishes the decisions which have reportedly cost his company a quarter billion dollars."

Seems kind is silly to punish the young father stocking the shelves of Golf Galaxy because their parent company doesn’t sell guns. But whatever.

Two posts that have make no sense to the discussion at hand.

Perhaps you should just chill and go have a chicken sandwich at Chic Fil-A. They're pretty good.

They can go out of business and he can go work somewhere else. I can only buy so many golf balls. So I now choose to by from a local store that is now owned by a guy that started stocking shelves in it out of high school. I really don't understand why you have a problem with me spend my money as I choose. Wait a minute you are a liberal, I understand now.

Oddly enough, roughly twice as many people are killed each year with blunt objects, like golf clubs, than are killed with all rifles put together (including AR-14s with 100 bullets)

You already swore off from shopping at this establishment long ago. What does it matter to you now?

Stock market on the whole, have been down since December. Many retails are in the dumpster including a few that about to belly up. None of them sells gun. You haven't proved a thing.

If you look at the Dick's Sporting Goods performance on the market, you will see that it's big declines are not linked to their announcements AT ALL. Quite the contrary. It's stock hit rock bottom between 2016 and October 2017. It stopped selling some guns in some stores in february 2018. It's stock cliumbed steadily. Stocks then plummeted in January 2020. New announcement made in March 2020.
The NRA and gun lovers are definitely trying to oversell their power, influence, and reach on this issue.
More arguments to be made that banning guns is increasing their stock value. But in reality, it would seem the two things are completely unrelated

I've been all over gunbroker and can't find an ar-14, I think perhaps its a collectors item so people don't seem to be willing to part with them.

I tend to agree here, everyone has a choice of where to spend their money and/or invest their time.

I thought dicks was overpriced on my 1st visit, but it was a really nice store, very clean so the likelihood that I returned was not 100% because the first impression wasn't anything special.

When they decided to jump on the social bandwagon, it was easy for me to move them further down the list because I prefer to do business with companies that are neutral politically. Its their choice to take a stand (nike is a good example) and its my choice to decide that if everything else is equal to do business with another company, its not like there are mass picket lines out there.

If a company chooses to get involved in politics, I have the right to choose to not purchase their product.

I own a lot of nike shirts, now I buy RB3, I like the new shirts and they are holding up well
I own several pairs of Levi's but my last two pair of jeans were Carhartt, surprisingly good product.
I used to watch sportcenter and listen to espn radio, now I skip both, I had to turn them off they wouldn't stop talking about Kap.

I'm sure they are doing fine without my business, and I'm doing fine without their products, its all good.

Ironic that you use an example that kills more than all methods of murder, the American diet! You would save more lives banning McDonalds.

I do agree. A company gets to decide which products to inventory. Of course, they will stop selling baseball bats as well, right?

Why would anyone buy a gun at a big-name, big-dollar sporting goods store?
