    Other countries bent the curve.

    We did not.

The reason is dirt simple, we didn't do enough testing and tracing.

One of country's top math guys came up with a plan. If we did roughly 5 times the number of tests we do now, we could start catching people early.

The larger the number of tests, the faster we get control of the disease.

Lots of countries have bent the curve. But their leaders were competent.

The CDC says that the death rate for flu, pheumonia, and covid19 (yes they lump all 3 things together) is 7%. So therefore the supposed numbers in this thread are clearly just covid alarmist garbage.

    Geebus, what an inane statement.

Of course Trump doesn't control the virus (the "duh!" is silent there), but he was completey in charge of our response to this pandemic, and he blew it bigly. In fact, as it stands, there is no national response whatsoever.

Epic fail. I stand by my claim that he has the blood of at least 50,000 Americans in his hands, deaths that were entirely preventable by a temporary national lock down.

    For political reasons/in an effort to glorify POTUS, slowing down testing may keep the number of cases low, however, it would worsen the following REALITY;

A drastic surge of Covid19 related hospitalizations, and that’s an indisputable fact.

Can someone please explain to me why they are against widespread testing?

Dealing with a complicated crisis is boring, demanding and unrelenting work.

Trump can't do complicated, won't tolerate more than a few minutes of work, and is too busy tweeting about tv to even consider doing anything demanding.

I forget corruption. He did that, too.

Are they not now? In the state of AR, anyone can get a test and there are many places that offer them, free and no appointment needed.

Your total cases number doesn't include all of those who had the virus and were asymptomatic or never went to a doctor. My 18 year old had all of the symptoms in late February. My whole family was exposed to him. You'd have to give out universal antibody tests to determine who has already had the virus.

I was tested 3 times 3 weeks ago. I only had a high fever as a symptom. No respiratory distress. Negative for all 3 tests. (Gall bladder infected and removed.) My neighbor is tested weekly. He works for the city of Fort Worth. Anybody who complains of symptoms seems to be getting a test.

And your support for this claim is where?

Last I knew, nobody had the slightest idea of how many people had the virus and never went to a doctor, so we have to go with what we do know. I did. It's far more accurate than a speculative "1%" guess.

You're just pretending to know the total cases by assuming only the confirmed cases. I didn't guess anything. I just exposed your assumption.

Repeatedly testing the same uninfected people makes the disease appear to be less infective than it actually is. Hence the virus is significantly more infective than reported

That doesn't answer my question. I want to know why people are against widespread testing.

I haven't seen anyone against it. Have you? Besides, even if they were, it doesn't change that testing is available for anyone.

Accelerate the testing or slow the testing. It really doesn't matter because at this late date testing is only a service to the statisticians.

267 daily new deaths in the entire USA from corona yesterday, the lowest in three months, and daily new deaths are on a sustained downtrend from mid April when the high was 2693 corona deaths in a day (Worldometer).

The Mainstream Mediocre's are clearly propagandizing the novel coronavirus "pandemic" to scare the American people into subservience and submission to Marxism.

The increased quantity of positive tests is due to increased testing, and this is a good thing because every positive test is evidence that the USA is making gains closer to herd immunity.

However, while a mask is not an impermeable wall, common sense tells you that a barrier like a mask can possibly help you. It may be akin to fighting with a musket, but muskets did work.

While it may be selfish to wear a mask and try not to join the crowd in attaining herd immunity, it is everyone's right to wear a mask if they wish to.

I ask - for the third time - why anyone would be against it.

Aside from Trump's inappropriate 'joke' on Saturday, no, I haven't heard anyone calling for a slowing in testing. So, then, I can assume everyone is all for it?

Do you have a spare tire, a fire extinguisher or a First Aid kit?

I'm glad I've never had to fire a gun in self defense. I truly hope that no one else ever has to fire one in your defense either.

You just answered and yet contradicted your own question while waiting for others to respond.

States and local municipalities and counties continue to increase testing, but hey, mask up and don't vote Trump

We know that a virus has become a political tool for you and your Democrat party.

If there is a need, I'm sure that many would go for testing.

Unless someone exhibits symptoms, and voluntarily goes for testing, then no one should be forced to get tested.
