the real deplorables will wait for a Trump rally to arrive in their town. The Christian right
is waiting for Sunday morning to do the same thing while they pass the plate.

Not when the people you go home to, and your c-workers, and the people who you have to share the same store with you, are at increased risk for your 'justice'. Nothing is ever patriotic about putting others at risk, for your political expression. Your excuse is no better than using religious expression to pack into churches and take everything back home to grandparents, children and the sick after service. Wear a mask, obey social distancing or don't do it.

The problem for you is that businesses need customers who won't go out shopping if SARS-CoV-2 running wild.

Opening a business and having too few customers is futile.

You think front line workers in grocery stores wouldn't be better off if all customers would wear masks?

I tried, but you think you know all about what's wrong with schools. You don't.

That's for the store to decide, and the stores I go to have decided it's better to serve their customer than it is to serve your needless mask hysteria.

You didn't answer my question. No surprise there.

    Masks save lives...

A recent study from UK researchers showed that requiring people to wear face masks all the time could be enough to contain an outbreak — no lockdown necessary. The more people wore masks, the researchers found, the closer a community could get to containing its outbreak.

"These results are striking in that the benefits accrue to the face mask wearer as well as to the population as a whole," the researchers wrote. "There is, therefore, a clear incentive for people to adopt face mask wearing."

But in recent months, groups of "anti-maskers" have protested against policies that require face coverings. Some say that it impinges on their freedom, while others question the science behind it.

As US coronavirus cases jump up, and evidence continues to mount in support of mask wearing, there is no more room for this debate. Americans across the country must wear masks within 6 feet of one another — or risk endangering more lives.

We have far more to fear from a tyrannical mindset like yours, than we do from a virus that has already passed its peak.

    My "tyrannical" source ... businessinsider.com

I love your claim about the virus being "passed it peak."

Were you the old guy caught pushing his way into the store, only to fall to his hands and knees as he lurched forward?

You're the one trying to force people, not me. You want to force them to stay home, to wear masks, to obey authority. You are about as close to a communist as it is possible to get without being overtly communistic.

In Sweden, people never hid in their homes in the first place, because they are the only country left on earth that values freedom and democracy. And they proved everyone wrong. No catastrophe befell them. The lockdowns are a needless disaster imposed on the population by power-mad politicians and bureaucrats.

These one-dimensional thinkers are beyond tiresome. They're about as deep as a puddle.

Public schools ... Politicized curriculum, poor teacher quality, weak standards, not enough money for inner city and rural schools, weak discipline (teachers are undermined), weak administrative leadership and quality. There's more.

If you can't remember what I proposed, you should ask rather make stuff up.
So, now I favor collectivized production? Egads.

    No, they didn't.

    Sweden (10m people)...

    Denmark (5.8m)...

    Their neighbor did much better.

British Columbia (5m people) did even better without a stay-at-home order.

5,280 dead in Sweden, 604 dead in Denmark, and 168 in BC.

You favor a collectivized view of society. And that is the fundamental premise that all authoritarians, including commies, share with one another.

    Yes, they did.

Their hospitals were not overwhelmed. And lest we forget, that was the original justification for the lockdowns, i.e., preventing the collapse of healthcare systems. That never happened in Sweden, ergo they proved everyone wrong.

5,280 dead in a country of 10.23 million = 0.05% of the population

At least half of whom were in Swedish nursing homes.

None of the doomsday scenarios befell Sweden. They managed to withstand the virus easily with very little disruption to normal life. They proved everyone wrong. And they continue to do so.
