From Obama's policy of backing jihadi terrorists to Trump's "maximum pressure" campaign. The road to Tehran runs through Damascus.

Syria faces mass starvation or mass exodus without more aid, WFP says - BBC

The US sanctions law, the Caesar Act, openly states that its strategy is "to prevent reconstruction in government held areas," which is where most Syrians live.

Why would we want reconstruction in areas our enemy controls? Not exactly a winning strategy. Better to keep the pressure on, so more people rebel against the regime. Besides, it is Assad choosing to starve his people, not Trump.

False. Watch the video or read the article before assuming such things. And you presuppose that the US has the right to sanction them or intervene in any way.

Wasn't the mainstream media on the Left goading Trump to go to war with Syria only 4 years ago?

Or did that get tossed down the memory hole?

A big reason I didn't vote for Bush or Obama or Clinton, and why I can't vote for Trump.

The US war against Syria is one of the worst crimes in history. And Trump is profoundly guilty of furthering that enormous crime. Naturally, Trump supporters will support Trump no matter what he says or does, so long as he owns the libs on Twitter.

Did you get these talking points from Hillary Clinton's email list or something?

Horhey is one of the few honest leftists who holds both sides accountable for their despicable warmongering. I don't agree with his socialist economics, but his stance is one of principle, not opportunism.

What does that have to do with starving people and sanctions ? I don't see any sense in what you are saying.. and why are the people of Syria our Enemy ? What did Syria do to the US ?

What are you talking about "keep the pressure on so no more rebel against the regime" ?? makes no sense

How is Assad Starving his own people ? Assad is not the one who sanctioned the people of Syria -- again .. no sense.

I'm not sure why OP states "Trumps sanctions" because the power behind the sanctions is a law passed by both houses of Congress. My reading left me with the impression that all Trump did was add about 10 people to the list that the law applies to.

Also I couldn't find the stated goal of preventing reconstruction in government held areas. I left with the impression that the US is seeking to prevent reconstruction FOR PROFIT in those areas. For all I know that would prevent all reconstruction but it seems it left the door open for NGOs/govts to assist not for profit.

By what legal authority did the US invade Syria?

Are you familiar with the concept of military aggression?

As gullible and out of touch as media fed leftists are, it's no surprise.

And why us Syria our enemy. They are not my enemy nor any other average american. Have they attacked our nation or people?

What we are doing is against international law that our wiser leaders helped to write post ww2. And its utter evil. Yet some thoughtlessly support it!

Japan was our enemy. Germany was the enemy of humanity and imperialistic. So when did Syria commit acts of our enemies?

If this nation of ours is ever subject to karma or reaping what we sow...we will suffer greatly from what our evil ruling elites have done in the interest of Mammon.

Our sanctions killed half a million kids in Iraq! Albreight said it was fine and OK to do that!

A christian nation? Yeah, right. It's satanic.. And I despise the sociopathic ruling elite in america. Who consistently commit evil, horrible acts for our people. And those that keep voting them back into office!

We have lost all sense of right and wrong or this evil would cease. I don't vote for it. But obviously most voters do!

Feel free to look through my post history before making assumptions about who I've failed to condemn.

At any rate, Trump has simply continued the Obama-era policy of "regime change" in Syria, only more dithering and contradictory. Fundamentally, Trump is still pursuing the same illegal and disastrous strategy as Obama.
