I agree that science itself cannot be evil. Science is merely a method for analyzing the natural world. But expertise has nothing to do with science. In fact, expertise has become nothing more than a vacuous piece of political jargon. It has no technical definition. There is no clear distinction between an "expert" and everyone else. It's just a title - like "lord" or "excellency" - that is used to puff people up and make them seem more substantial than they actually are. The power of titles is actually quite amazing when you think about it. People have been getting fooled and duped by magic words for thousands of years. Americans are no different.

 

Biden said he will shut down this country to wipe out Covid-19. He said he would willing wipe out jobs to reinvent the economy for the Green Deal. Sounds to me, he does not care about jobs or the livelihood of the American people.

If people were to follow the mandate to wear masks and social distancing then Covid-19 would be wiped out. But every day I see people refusing to wear masks and Social distancing. Every day, we hear about about people have what they call Covid-19 parties. They have large gatherings in spite the dangers posed by the virus. You have liberals protesting. Until these events are ended, the virus will be here to stay.

I disagree with you on your interpretation of experts. There are clear difference between someone with expertise and everyone else. If you want an interpretation of the law you are better off to seek out a judge or lawyer rather than an auto mechanic. If you want to know a lockdown's impact on the economy you are better of asking a economist rather than a nurse. If you want to know the impact of reducing troops deployed to a region of the world you are better off asking a military general rather than an accountant. If you want to know the impact of a computer virus you are better off asking a programmer than a hair stylist. Expertise implies training and experience in a particular field. Experts can be ranked base on past accomplishments, experiences, years of study or work in a field. These may not be scientific fields but consulting the right experts makes a world of difference if you are trying to deal with a crisis. So getting back to my original statement I believe a good leader makes their decisions for something like covid by listening to the advice from medical scientist but balance that information with feedback from experts in other fields. If you want to know the impact of shutting down schools you talk to educations. If you want to know the impact on the economy you talk to economist, business owners and people in the financial industry. If you want to know the impact of docking your aircraft carriers in port you speak to your admirals. These are the experts that can give you the best advice. Sometimes you have to make tradeoffs but at least you should be able to point to the data you used to make your decision.

Medical experts don’t take into account the economic destruction their advice can cause. Fauci has admitted it and it’s an important factor. Down in FL we’re over the hump and didn’t have to shut our economy down at the height like NY still has. NYC has been decimated with barely any deaths being recorded now and they’re STILL locked up. Who knows how they will recover? Massive Fed bailouts after Biden is elected? Certainly appears so. All these Dem run cities will instantly get all OUR money the second they’re able, resolving themselves of all responsibility and all the shitty decision that they made. If Biden wins that is.

And why arent Cuomo and buddies being questioned harshly for admitting they want to buy up the buildings that their decisions have emptied? It’s almost like they’ve done it all on purpose.

 

Listening to scientists in cahoots with a global agenda is nothing to brag about it public, but that's where we are.

First off he can't shutdown the economy.
Secondly the assertion that he'd attempt to do so based exclusively on what "scientists" tell him to do shows a narrow mindedness on his part and the inability to balance the economy and health concerns. Letting health so called experts be your only input on such a decision without looking at economic consequences and factoring them in is evidence that Biden is indeed as stupid and shallow as his detractors portray him to be. A president needs to be able to see and comprehend the big picture.

No, but the Executive Branch of the Federal Government pretty much should, and they, despite this Republican Myth of the Feds really running another whole nation than the one the States are part of, does have a certain amount of control over things the States do. Things like keeping States from bidding against each other for supplies they all need and thus driving the prices up for everybody, among many other eventualities less obvious but no less egregious. The constant Republican bleating of "It's a State function" is pretty much obvious bs in regard to a GLOBAL pandemic

 

Yes, IF the scientists told him to. He's saying he will listen to the scientists in regard to scientific matters. This is a matter of disease and the lives of millions, who in hell else SHOULD he listen to?

It's a presidents job to gather information from all quarters and see the big picture so he can make a decision based on that.
