    They are predicting more than the usual amount of ice for us this winter. Not snow, ice. I learned my lesson. After doing a 540 degree spin on I-40 in the Taco, and almost going over an embankment on a sideways slide on a county back road, I'm done dealing with ice.

    Well, yes, and two coats of bonded powder is the best, nice shiny mirror finish. You look over and see yourself looking back. I didn't think we were wealthy though, but these are just dreams, I guess.

    Jeebus though, I was just thinking of when Lester borrows it and goes down to get a load of stone. Oh, my heart

    Ice is truly terrible. I remember going off an exit once and suddenly found myself turned completely around facing the other way. The guy coming up behind just drove right around and waved, weird.

    All cars have antilock nowadays so I'm told the new way of dealing with a skid is no longer the counterintuitive instruction to brake very lightly and steer into it but the automatic response to "stomp and pray". I would check that before I did it though.

    No.. just get it running.. that finish on it is called "patina" and it has taken nearly a century to obtain... everyone can paint it up pretty.. few can boast the original finish.. it's been a thing among old car guys for awhile now.

    Ice and snow, if we have any on any particular year, disappear by noon.. got to get out early to admire the mountains covered with a beautiful white sprinkling.. and one of the best things about down here.. most will not go out for a drive in or on it, so we have the road to ourselves... come to think of it.. population being sparse.. we usually have the road to ourselves.

    I have a sad/happy kitty story to share since the internet (and universe) was made for kitty things.

    So I was driving down the road yesterday and got to this rough patch where they are doing roadwork and I look in my review mirror to see the backside of a kitten hauling tail up the side of the road and recognized said arse end as that of a still nursing community kitten on my street. Pulled over and began the search. Got threatened with being arrested for trespassing by someone on the other side of the street and I wasn't even near their property. People renovating a house on same side as kitty said have at it and feel free to come back and look around whenever. Went back 4 times yesterday and 3 today looking for it. Gave my number to several people and finally said that was all I could do. Just about dark, I felt a need to go one last time and voila I spotted it through a fence curled up at the base of a tree deep in a snaky looking yard. That damn kitten ripped me to shred when I finally got deep enough in the brush to grab it. It is now reunited with its mommy cat and I probably now have rabies in addition to poison ivy, but I will sleep well tonight with my puppy dog beside me saying, "Man, you stink like cat."

    There is this stuff you paint on that stops rust. Used it on my old livestock trailer. But it makes the "finish" darker. It would make a heck of a lawn ornament just like it is. Looks like you also need some chrome work, headlights, etc. In a nearby town they have an old steel tractor with steel wheels.

    The tail of the dragon is a stretch of highway. US 129.A lot of curves 318 curves in 11 miles

    Not that I'm aware of. Taken many a drive between Sevier County and down towards Townsend, and I've heard of the Dragon, but can't say specifically that I've been there.

    My son was talking about the Dragon's Tail just a day or so ago, a lot of the people that ride motorcycles here went to the Dragon's Tail just to ride it.

    Another neat highway that will keep you hanging on to your seat is the Bear Tooth Pass Highway in Wyoming. We were able to drive it a few days before they closed it for the winter If you ever get to Wyoming drive it and also the Chief Joseph Scenic Byway they are both spectacular drives. I promise you won't be disappointed.
