The article confirms he has been under audit for a decade and further attributes a lot of his losses to tax credits for taking a bath on his interest in the casino in Atlantic city as well as his special historic credits for the DC post office building conversion. Reading it, based on what they had vs. more concrete details, I do not see that there is in got to this gotcha moment.

In order to avoid taxes, one must have taxable income and not report it. What was his taxable income?

You are probably referring to corporate taxes which are paid on profits. No profit that year, no income taxes. Companies like his are constantly audited. I would view this statement as click bait rather than reality.

The time to comment on a tax audit is after it has completed.

    Perhaps. Perhaps not.

My understanding is that he turned over management of his company to his sons.

Yeah, real estate is the lynchpin of American businesses. Hell commercial retail is real estate to a large degree.

But trump could prove it, if it were fake. One year is all it would take. Could even be a year when he was president.

I’d hope most people will wonder why a guy who lives in a tower and has a private jet, pays less in taxes than an illegal.

what laws did he break? Do you pay extra income tax, or just what the IRS tells you to pay?

Seems like you have a problem with Obamas tax laws or NY tax laws..

So you’re going with he’s just a failure in business and not a cheat?
I paid much more than 750 and I don’t even have my own airplane.

    Any legal experts here?

Open question: someone was saying in another thread "why hasn't Trump suffered any criminal charges" ? Indeed I'm wondering why this is so. Why is it always that he just has to pay back money (that he has illegitimately accrued) ? It's uncanny.

The bigger question is who does he personally owe more then 300 million in loans that come due in the next 4 years that he can't afford to pay?

Trump has massive depreciation from his commercial holdings that would negate a lot of taxes.

The burden of proof is on the person making a claim. The NY Times has made a claim. They need to prove it. If they cannot they are fake news by definition.

If these reports were really disclosing Trump's tax return information the reporters would be guilty of violating Federal law and arrested. If we don't see an arrest I call fake news.

    26 U.S. Code § 7213

    (3)Other persons

It shall be unlawful for any person to whom any return or return information (as defined in section 6103(b)) is disclosed in a manner unauthorized by this title thereafter willfully to print or publish in any manner not provided by law any such return or return information. Any violation of this paragraph shall be a felony punishable by a fine in any amount not exceeding $5,000, or imprisonment of not more than 5 years, or both, together with the costs of prosecution.

A lengthy story with no revealed sources.

In other words, it is speculation at best and pure confabulation at worst.

On the other hand, the Biden family profits from using the VP position when dealing with foreign governments and related business connections is now being outright exposed.
There is now documented proof of the transactions.
There is now documented proof that Ambassador Yovanovitch lied to Congress to cover for the Biden family.
There is now documented proof that Hunter Biden received money directly from Russia during a time when Russia was under sanctions.
There is now proof that Burisma was used as a conduit for the Koch-Glitsch Italia - Russian pipeline equipment transfer.
An illegal transfer while sanctions on Russia were in place.

An old Democrat tactic... Point your finger at someone to distract from your own guilt.

Wouldn't a holding that depreciates more than it makes in income be a failing business? Aren't you, therefore, confirming that he is a failing business man?

    "Long Concealed Records Show..."

There are no records to be shown. An unknown source claims everything but no records are actually revealed.

Even the phony Rachel Maddow tax sheet scam had more credibility than this pile of manure.

The source is the reporters who have his taxes.
Trump could release one year and prove these are made up. But we all know they aren’t.

he did not do what other presidents did, which was to put his finances into a blind trust.

That means there is no distinction between Trump and his sons. It's all Trump. From what we know about Trump, that's a safe assumption.

No, the time to comment is not after his audit has edited, his audit has been dragging on for over 10 years. But, there are facts we can glean from his taxes that voters should know about.

Such as the fact that he has paid millions to Ivanka as 'consultant fees' Really? Trump constantly lies, telling us the he can't release his taxes because of the 'audit' but the IRS says there is no restriction from releasing taxes because of ongoing audits. So how many lies is Trump telling? Such as the fact that he has been living a life of luxury, and paying no taxes. He has also been taking illegal deductions. Hair cuts are not a legit 'expense' yet, during Celeb Apprentice, he deducted $70,000 for hair cuts. Cohen tells us that he never saw Trump get a hair cut, 'he cuts his own hair' Cohen says, but, of course, we must question the source. Even if he paid $70,000 for hair cuts. which is incredible, when you think about it, how does he get to deduct that expense? NYT says he's deducting personal expenditures as business expenses. You can't do that. The average person that generates the kind revenue he reported pays about $400 million more than Trump does, so that is a red flag, right there.

Moreover, all of his loans are coming from Russian Oligarchs. Russian Oligarchs don't make a penny without Putin's blessing. That is what the meeting between Team Trump and the Russian Lawyer was all about , the 'magnitsky act' which are sanctions against the oligarchs, that PUtin wants repealed. This tells us he is beholden to Russia, which means his foreign policy is influenced by these loans, and that poses a national security problem for America. If he were not President, there is no way in hell he, and any of his staff, could have gotten security clearances

If you are living a life of luxury, you are spending money on yourself, that money is income, yet, he pays no taxes. So, we need answers to these questions. I suggest there is a strong possibility he is cooking the books.. People go to jail for that. Leona and Martha and Cohen went to jail on far less.

Also, on his financial reports, they are not consistent with his taxes. So, his public face does not match his IRS face, so there are questions that need answers.

I'm going to make an assessment, and given what we know about Trump, about all the shady characters he has associated with, that he was 'individual 1' in the Cohen charging document, that Trump is a criminal.

    Ya think?
