Obviously the results are not official until each state certifies it's results. Some states don't certify their results until december. It does not stop people from calling the election with mathematical certainty. Obviously some states will trigger a recount if within a margin, and others allow candidates to demand (and pay for) a recount. No one in the history of elections has ever said "hey. let's wait until december 11th to celebrate since only when the last state has certified it's election is it official". I don't have a problem with the close states electing for a recount, or Trump asking for (and paying for) a recount. But I think it shows some hubris on Trump's part and some blind devotion on his cult follwers after all he has said before and after the election. You would have a somewhat valid point if Trump hadn't said all of these things "The election should nd Nov 3 not weeks later" "Stop the count" on November 3rd!! "any vote that came in after election day will not be counted" WTH election results must be known on election night "that's the way it's been and that's the way it should be" "I won this election, by a lot" November 4th "I think it's a terrible thing when people or states are allowed to tabulate ballots for a long period of time after the election is over"; NOW YOU DEMAND METHODICAL AND RATIONAL COUNTING?!?!?

Sounds really nice. Except that in fact it is Trump and his team that are responsible for almost every suit being brought forward. And in fact most of the people who did the voting (ie the overwhelming majority of americans who voted for biden) are against dragging this out. I have no problem with a recount and getting this right (something that Trump was against every inch of teh way until he lost). considering all the shamful and shameless thing that Trump said leading up to and after this election, I think you guys lost the high ground (actually abbout 4 years ago)
There is no mathematical certainty when the electors haven't voted for the president. All we did was vote for electors and they are welcome to vote for whoever.

That is incorrect, the Supreme Court ruled that in 32bstates the electors must follow state law but no state law says it will cancel a vote and replace it, only that the elector will face some sort of punishment. Nobody knows if their vote stands or not. In the recent history there have been electors switch their vote and although they faced action their vote was allowed to stand,

Anyone who values the integrity of our election system would applaud verifying results. I really don't care which elderly sex offender is in office; I just want the system to be heavily scrutinized. Also, I would support laws prohibiting changes to the system without voter approval, ballot harvesting, and ballot curing by either side.
