Why of course. We watched you try for 3-1/2 years to overturn an election. You and the media swore up and down it would happen. Said it was a done deal. I think we have a much better chance and it is barely 4 weeks! Sit tight my friend.

My guess is that he doesn't expect anything. He is just pointing out that our elections suffer fraud and we should find ways to reduce or eliminate it. Yes he thinks the election was stolen from him just like Hillary did. Those are personal problems. Improving election security is probably a worthy goal.

Improving election security is just GOP code language for throwing out as many votes in big cities as they can.

So you think there is no reason to improve it?

It sure is. I'm not sure how you can improve "the most secure election in American history", but I'm sure there are some tweaks that can be made.

Too bad that's not remotely the goal of today's "hearing".

Much like his call to Zelensky was all about "Ukrainian Corruption"...

It's called a pretense.... look it up..

They'd rather make it easier on themselves and just take away their right to vote to begin with.

Oh, I am not against election security. Here is, however, how Trump sees election security: Large, mainly black cities can't possibly have election security because everyone knows that black people can only win if they cheat. Therefore, we have to throw out as many black and city votes as we can, to prevent cheating (and help Trump win). Of course, he won't say that out loud, but that's the mindset. Actions speak louder than words.

Nobody was super happy with the results of 2016, but there were no ridiculous legal challenges to the loss or BS fraud claims..

Unless you think impeachment was somehow related to the election, in which case, your thought processes are completely broken...

Yeah, I won't pretend to know what goes on in his head. Someone mentioned the long game, and I'm inclined to see it that way as well.

Sure, but this should be done behind the scenes, and the timing is far beyond suspect.

Quote me ever saying that. And, no, nothing about the Russia investigation would have "overturned an election," which is what you guys are cheerleading.

Sounds exactly like the fantasies we heard from the very extreme left after the 2016 election. My hippie cousin, who gathers mushrooms in the forest on his days off, said almost the identical thing to me about Trump four years ago. Y'all are in some far out company on this.

State lower court Obama appointees. It will head to the appellate court then on to the SCOTUS. But, carry on and inaugurate Ole Children's Hair Sniffer. But tell him not to put his jammies away, he may not be there that long.

How does one appeal a decision of "dismissed with prejudice for lack of evidence?"

I'm pretty sure you're mistaken on how the court system works.

4 years, not 8... I think he can safely unpack, or have Mommy do it for him...

OTOH, I hear Chuck Grassley is considering running again and he'll be 89.... why not 8 years for that young buck Joe??

They will allow testimony, and yet again, no PROOF

More political theatre for the right wing. Show the proof, or sit down. We need to just stop the damn lying

This is getting embarrassing for the right, and dangerous for democracy

    Exactly.

That is why any reference to 2016 (in the context that you responded to) is misguided and doesn't hold water.

Has this circus show started yet? If so, where can I listen to it and laugh?

    Yes, CC.

That is certainly a reasonable assumption.

As far as the involvement of the SCOTUS, I see only 2 options.

    1) They refuse to even acknowledge the case.
    2) They acknowledge the existence of the case, and then issue a Per Curiam Rejection.

^Beyond that, The Court won't even figure into the equation.

Well normally people would expect everyone else to accept the reality that 2 Republican Senate committees found Russia interfered with the elections, but that would require Trump supporters to accept reality. I don't ever see that happening.

Those same State Legislatures are the cowards that didn't make this right BEFORE THE ELECTIONS. They have the responsibility to set the election laws/rules with more power in this regard that their state courts or governors. It's in their State Constitutions that they are responsible and they never stepped up, but now they want to have hearings? Seriously? This is just Republican *******s that don't like Trump covering their asses, because this was their failure.

They were the ones that allowed Unrequested Mail in Ballots. (Insane)
They are the ones that didn't force the counters to match signatures. (Insane)
They are the ones that allowed for all the disparate voting practices. (Ridiculous)
They are the ones that allowed for the voting machines/programs to be used when it was discovered they were not secure. (Ridiculous)
They were the ones that created voting procedures that were not transparent and not verifiable. (Insane)

Our elections are in question, because these State Legislature assclowns didn't do their jobs prior to the elections and now want to cover their pathetic asses. Canadians HAND COUNT their elections, because they know the **** we experienced is far too easy to happen. If you don't have a populace that believes the election process is honest, transparent, and verifiable, then you really don't have citizens that think their government is legitimate.

You must be among the last of a dying breed.

The Trumpster who automatically believes whatever comes out of Trump’s mouth. You believe this nonsense and try and pass it off as fact, without ever beginning to grasp how ridiculous and self serving this gimmick is.

This is not meeting of the State Senate. Trump and Guliani are making false claims about the Pennsylvania legislature conducting formal hearings.

This is nothing more than a presentation by Guliani to the Majority Policy Committee, which is the GOP caucus’s.

This is not a committee hearing. This is not a legislative hearing.

It’s just a show, presented in a hotel ballroom.

They’re just trying to keep the television cameras pointed in their direction. And, I’m sure that they have a whole plate full of right wing noise all ready to unleash on parler, 8chan, twitter, and wherever else the low information right wing crowd sulks.

Are you sure it's in a ballroom? I put in an order for 8 yards of double shredded hardwood mulch that I'm expecting Rudy to deliver this afternoon...

    Exactly.

This "hearing" is the equivalent of a Bunch of Birthers getting together with the Flat-Earthers to hear "testimony" about the latest Bigfoot Sighting.

    Major stuff to be sure.
