No she didn't call him the N word specifically.
It was reference to ALL blacks.

because society ignored the n-word being used in rap music? not sure what culture you mean.... Obama used the N-word when she was around that age, was Obama wrong to use it?

Nothing. I repeat, nothing. Recorded digitally is private. Ever.

Supposedly. Here's the thing: you are defending the indefensible. What he did was wrong. This was not the justified mechanism. If things were as racially intense as they supposedly were, he should have taken out his smartphone and recorded all the racism that was allegedly so paramount in the halls of the school. The fact that he posted a 3-second clip that was meant to be private of a girl saying that she can drive and using the n-word in the clip that was not directed at him means that he was scrapping at the bottom of the barrel to find something.

that we agree on, anyone that says the word, black or white needs to be shamed equally..... that is not happening because many whites and blacks are racist

No, because the school didn't listen to students when they were told to go pick cotton. Or the N word flew around the halls casually.

I agree, and rap music and President Obama using the word as President are keeping the word alive

    I am not defending anything.

    I said this was terrible.

    What he did was wrong.
    What she said was wrong.

    2 wrongs don't make a right.

Just so you know, I am not defending the guy who posted the video 4 yrs later. It was very vindictive.

I agree. But that is no excuse.

Every white person under the age of 70 should know not to use the N word in public. And certainly not record it.
But the culture is still there.
And the fact blacks still get to use it makes it confusing. But confusing is still not an excuse.

if the President did not use the word while she was that age, and it was not in the music she was listening too, I would agree

I think it was wrong of her to say, same with Obama, same with rap singers, some with anyone that uses it... I just want to see consistency, not racism - if one makes a determination of right and wrong based on the race of the one saying it, they are a racist

sometimes black friends have no issues with it, but your right, putting in on video, and many will be upset by it... and they are racist if they are only upset with her because she is white

    Yep.
It's sad all the way arould.
It's sad she recorded saying she now gets to drive niggrers around.
It's sad the recording came back to haunt her 4 yrs later.

It's sad the school doesn't address racial issues within the walls of the school.
The school is run by adults. If adults don't address issues, one can't expect kids to address them.

but if this girl was black and at 15 she said this in the exact same context, would you think the school behave appropriately kicking her out

this is what I want people to think about, her race should not matter

this was not really a racial issue, other than this young black man trying to get a young white girl in trouble over something that was not racist in that context and happened years ago when she was 15

if there was "real" racial issues, I 100% agree they should address them

does the school ban everyone that is caught on video using the word regardless of the race of the one saying it? if not, are they not being racist

can't have one set of rules for whites and another set of rules for blacks, everyone should be treated the same

Obviously, she DIDN'T use the word in the pejorative sense.

    Context is everything.

Her getting kicked out of school is utterly ridiculous.

That kid (Gaffigan) who posted that video (outing this ancient history) needs to face major backlash.

as long as we have one set of rules for white people and another for black people, I agree

we have to all try to be consistent, are children are watching and learning and forming behaviors that will last a life time

So let me get this straight...

A "black" teen who is actually mixed and that particular type of mixed to where he would barely "count" as black his damn self if he went to school with me and my friends growing up...Has outed a white BLM supporter teen because somebody sent him a private 3 second video of her saying the N word years ago and now the girl has been kicked out of college...

I know this isn't funny but I mean...This entire story is full of irony.

I feel bad for the girl though this isn't right at all and the fact that her family has been publicly shamed over this utter nonsense is disgusting. Part of me wants to sit here and laugh and ask if she still wants to be a BLM supporter but the fact that she was kicked out of college over this crap is way too far and makes it not funny anymore.

It's stories like this that make me wish karma was real. I hope this little punk get's his at some point.

If he is going to use cancel culture to ruin her life, she should use MeToo to ruin his. Accuse him of making her life in school miserable because he wanted to sleep with her; and this is all the actions of an angry, jealous man. Revenge is a dish best served cold.

15 year old brains do things they know they shouldn’t. My 17 year old self has unprotected sex even though I knew better. I just got lucky not to have any consequences from it. Teenage brains are different than at 25.

It is funny that the side against populating prisons from too much incarceration, is for life long and ongoing punishment for PC offenses.

Teens and young adults do not realize what they put on video can be there forever. A young woman was complaining to me that her ex-boyfriend sent her nude pics out to others......the lesson is do not make nude pics.

Her life is over from the sense of having it easy one day from a degree that means anything. She is going to community college now. Her degree won’t be worth the paper it is written on. Because of him, she will be waiting tables her whole life, struggling from paycheck to paycheck waiting for the sweet embrace of death to take her from her poor, hellish existence. All for being guilty of a PC offense as a 15 year old with an undeveloped mind.
