    So democrats wanted to make Trump supporters look so bad that they had to call in the NG and put on a show about protecting the Capital from them. As it turns out democrats created a super spreader event. Heads should roll for this.

    Because democrats wanted to portray Trump supporters as being violent. It was a democrat stunt that has now put peoples lives at risk. Do you recall what libs said about putting troops in cities?

    It was very predictable that there would be violence on 1/6.

    As for whether there would have been issues on 1/20 - we will never know because the large presence of force eliminated any plans (if any) that were out there

    Maybe you don’t know this, but democrats pressured the army to get lib governors to send troops to DC. Libs even said all 50 state capitals were in danger, nothing happened. But in lib cities violent rioting has been going on for almost a year.

    they were in danger, because of Trump and his supporters... because of the guard, they all crawled back under the rocks they came from

    This isn't necessarily a bad thing. These people are young and healthy enough to have a chance of dying from the virus approaching zero. On the plus side it takes us slightly closer to herd immunity. I heard this morning that the estimate of people already immune is more than 60 million. These national guardsmen are now immune.

    I love that the same people who defended Feds in unmarked vehicles grabbing people off the streets of Portland & detaining them without charge throw a giant hissy fit because someone used troops to dissuade their Trump loving buddies from trying to storm the Capitol & kill them some politicians (and some more cops).

    I distinctly recall people here wanting troops to storm the barricades in Seattle & kill as many people as necessary to end a stupid protest a few days earlier than it collapsed by itself. Yet using the NG to make sure that the people who planted pipe bombs & hauled vans full of weapons & explosives to a protest don't get a chance to plan proper terrorism for the inauguration is 'Fascism'.

    No, there isn't. The very few radicals showed themselves and were arrested. There have been no more violence since except by Antifa groups in Portland. Why don't we send the NG over there?

    So 20 years from how they can look back and say "see, this is what we HAD to do to defend against Trump", but they didn't really have to do much of anything.

    There were no nationwide protests from the right... just the same old rioting we've seen for months now.

    On the positive side the chance that these soldiers will die is around zero so we are now 200 cases closer to herd immunity. Sorry I couldn't resist that. I actually agree with you.
